1. He brought too much dead weight to the World Cup (i wont name names but y'all know who they are)
2. He ran the same 5-10 players into the ground in the group stage
3. He never adjusted his tactics. Second half Subs were almost uniformly bad
The player pool can and should aim to do better in 2026. GGG is inflexible. We need a much better coach, preferably someone with an international pedigree

Gregg Berhalter did not "resurrect" this team, he was in the right place at the right time to usher in the most talented generation this country has ever seen (and it's not even close). The “B” grade, and everyone saying “he got them to where we expected” is exactly why he can’t be in charge of the team going forward. The current talent would get almost any manager to the same place. We need someone to take the team to the next level.
Look at it this way: Klinsmann got a better effort in 2014 from a less talented roster/player pool against a Belgian team that was much better than the Dutch team we just lost to. Berhalter should never have been hired. It's just an MLS boys club. There needs to be a 2 tier player pool if we want to advance. Pool A: players based in Europe. Pool B: players based outside of Europe. It's no secret that the players who play and train at the highest level will do the best. The MLS will never be on the level of the Argentinian and Brazilian leagues, so it should just accept that. Advertising MLS players in the national team brings no one to the MLS audience.
Yes, it's time for a change from Berhalter! If the USMNT keeps Berhalter just because we have a better record against Mexico in CONCACAF, then our bar is set low! Being first in CONCACAF should be already a standard, and Not an achievement.
GGG should NOT be offerred another contract; it is a bad idea to have the same coach for 2 cycles. Frankly, the USA underperformed and despite the most talented team in US World Cup history, played at a level that was less than the sum of its parts.
Ok do they not get that we could have gone further than the 16??? He is being out coached n with the talent we have n can get deserves better mgr!! We won't attract other dual nationals either!!
USSF should at least try to offer Greg an interim contract where they give a short list of must-do's. USSF should insist that Greg puts better attacking talent on the field like Pefok, Pepe, Gio etc. and see if Greg is capable of performing while working with a short-list of ego's. Something like that…
