      I never understood the criticism; i think hes been awesome for ages. He has it all; not the fastest but still quick, brave, physical, can carry the ball, natural leader, great instincts, good timing, good passer, experienced at the highest level but still young… he’s absolute quality. Next captain in my opinion

      When Matthijs de Ligt integrated Ajax's first team, he was so younger. He should have reached a high level as he could at Ajax. But, he left his country without getting enough experience. That's why he straggled in Italy and in Germany.
      Now, at his age, he got more experience and maturity to dominate strikers in front of him.
      But United, until today doesn't defend good because of new system of using 3 defenders.
      Did you see Guardiola this years. He defends with 6 defenders. City against Liverpool, City's defenders were 6,7, even 8.
      Amorim, must understand that, if he can't win, he must have one point at least. United's defense system causes me worries. I'm not
      safe with 3 defenders at all.

      He sometimes switches off and the striker steals a few meters ahead of him to score…
      Other than that he’s an absolute beast of a defender and a captain material for sure…

      Been waiting for this. I have no idea why he is so underrated. The only think he lacks in his game is pace, but he takes great angels to the ball so it's not as exposed as other CB similar to him. So happy that he came to United, I hope he retires here.

      He is doing quite well isnt he? This is why people should give the players time to adapt. People were calling him flop last season. Whats the point of criticizing someone 5-6 months in to their premier league tenure.

      those downplaying him should understand he just had his breakout young which is normally unsustainable
      for cntext van dijk,kompany,vidic and rudiger were nowhere near him at 26 and they still retire among the best of their generations
      he just about to get into his peak
