Remember kids, a game with a lot of points doesn't make it better. The second half was practically a mere formality A game with only 13 total points was more dramatic and exciting than one with 85.
So if I were Oregon I would be really concerned. TT makes you earn every first down and won’t give up many big plays. Oregon doesn’t score more than 17 on Tech
This was an absolute travesty. James Madison should not have even been on the same field as a team like this. It’s a blackeye on the college football playoff committee, as well as the sport itself. Notre Dame should’ve had that spot, and I’m not even a fan. James Madison should’ve had a very nice top to your ball game to celebrate their season. Instead, they get absolutely embarrassedvia a team that was not even trying.
I think it was a fair assesment from those that said JMU may be "plucky" or insert any other patronizing compliment here. Ultimately however this idelogical "participation trophy" hand holding stuff injected into something as theoretically meritocratic as sports flys in the face of what it is meant to be. If we're going to call this a true "playoff" , a tournament of the best of the best from the entire field of competitors throughout the year all fighting it out for the trophy. We need to revise the selection process going forward. JMU , great place been to parties there, didn't belong on the field with Oregon or likely any other team from the playoffs outside of perhaps Tulane which was the other token/technicality selection not a rational one.
JMU, and its conference should be excluded from the playoffs until proven otherwise. What a joke. So many other teams deserved to be there more than anyone in the Sun Belt Conference.
Playing against second/third strings when the game was too far away is EXACTLY what I expected. Texas Tech is in for a game in Florida. ASU beat them. We will too
Might be the worst color commentary I’ve ever heard in a college/pro game. Guy was not only consistently wrong in his pre and post snap diagnosis but when he was proven wrong he failed to pivot to an accurate diagnosis.
Like he played the game for years but got along on his physical traits and not intelligence. And it’s so sad when he’s paired with an elite PxP guy. You’d think they’d baby these analysts into these rolls til they prove they are worthy. Instead they fast track these retired athletes like this guy and Brady without them ever providing any inciteful commentary.
Like the color guy is supposed to be the intelligent straight man for these broadcasts.
Guy failed to point out the obvious uncalled-DPI on Moore’s first interception and failed to point out the TE falling on the turf on his second.
Either he’s an idiot or has pre-determined talking points that he can’t pivot from. Can’t be neither, can be both. Would love for him to defend his in-game talking points.
Honestly, the on-campus home playoff games have been such a great idea in the CPF. Places like Oregon, Ohio State, Texas AM absolutely deserve to host playoff games since those environments are so special during big games 🔥

TEXAS TECH HAS A SUPERIOR DEFENSE WHO SCORES POINTS 👉. OREGON GAVE UP 34 POINTS 👉 AT HOME TO A HIGH SCHOOL TEAM . TECH IS GOING TO WRECK
Jesus loves you-!
Jmu jus pulled a patriots play, Edelman pass TD.
JMU didn't play badly at all. Even though they lost I commend them.

i believe JMU had defense, they would win
This is college football fault putting this team in the playoffs we all new I think fighting Irish would’ve gave Oregon a Run
JMU had no business..
That boy DeGennaro is nice
So JMU is better than every second team in college football
Fixed.. so disgusting

BYU was a better fit for that spot than JMU & TU…straight garbage of teams.
Oregon cost me $650 by not covering… They were the last leg of my parlay… I despise Oregon now
Props to JMU for continuing to compete.
JMU has heart. Great effort.

Much respect to JMU for that, fought hard against a superior team
I get it now. The Voting committee will not allow two schools from the same state to enter the playoff. Indiana/ND, TAMU/Texas and JMU/UVA.

Lanning if you see this comment please don’t go for 2 unless it’s for or in overtime

31-27 run to end the game from JMU
Jmu shouldn’t have been there
JMU did not look like a playoff team to me. Too many weaknesses. Strenght is in their receivers.

Anyone here after Texas Tech loss?
If Texas Tech had JMU’s offense they would’ve beaten Oregon.
