Gutted. Looks like Cooper prefers a team of disciplined workhorses with no creative freedom whatsoever. Not only that, any succesful team in the history of football whether domestic or international has almost always had a dead ball specialist who can turn a free kick into a half chance. I'm sick of seeing Forest players line up for a free kick and then just boot the ball either into the stands or the wall. We have one in Scarpa, and he barely gets on the bench. When was the last time we actually scored from a direct free kick?

Disgraceful treatment of Scarpa really. You've got to give him a chance, exemplarary attitude and obvious quality as a footballer, and as you say he could fill the no.10 or almost anywhere else, regardless of our style of play. Cooper has got this one wrong if he's indicated to let him go. But if he really isn't in Cooper's plans, for the sake of Scarpa's career and out of respect for the guy I want to see him play football and get the respect he deserves in England. Wish that was at Forest, but looks like it's not to be. We may never know the full story, but it seems really shabby treatment to not give him a run in the team, I was so excited when he joined and flashes of when he played I thought no one else can pass like that.

An absolute mess to bring him from Sao Paulo and then keep him in the stands the entire time. Such a waste. It blows my mind why he hasn't even been given a chance. He's better than half the players we have and worrall gets a new contract for being shakey legs at the back. On top of all that he's a friendly guy – we exchanged some words after the Leeds match and he signed my sons shirt, and took a selfie with my boy that absolutely made his day (we travelled a long way to be at that game). No other players did that – which isn't really a dig at them but an emphasis on Scarpa's good attitude.

Scarpa came in with such a fresh and positive attitude, such a shame to not have been given an opportunity. I think he'd be perfect to give MGW a break for the last 10 -20 minutes of a game, especially with the new stoppage time rules.

However. The Premier Division is about Pace and Power. Which trump Scarpa's lightweight and pedestrian finesse. Skillful though he may be. The games he did play in, he seemed anonymous and easily pushed around. Forest are currently a counter attacking side. That seems to suggest pace and power. Scarpa doesn't fit with that. Scarpa being 'shoved out' is another symptom of recruitment which can't recruit to the system that they have to play. ie. We need a CDM and maybe 'our dream' of a two man field with an overload of an attacking front three may happen. I don't see Mangala as a no.6. He was 'done' for both goals yesterday. Behind the play for the 1st goal (as he was last season, ball watching.). If we get Sangare (which isn't looking likely having bid 12 million short…) then there would be hope for a player like Scarpa. But look at where most of the 1st team are? Alanga? Pace. Power. Bolly. Power. (We'll probably recruit a CH with Pace and Power.) Awoniyi? A bulldozer at speed. Forest are no longer a team of dwarves. I was surprised at how much Height Forest now have in the team. But the one position they really need pace and power to transition. CDM. And until we get that, I don't expect our possession stats to improve. If we had to pay £65 million on two players? It would on a next level CH and CDM. As it is. We're having to spread that over CH, CDM, another keeper, a LB and another striker in case Awoniyi gets injured.
