Sargent hasnt looked interested for most of the season. I have a feeling this was brewing for a while
I'm pretty sure I'll end up in the minority here but I think we all should give Josh grace. No one has worked harder wearing that jersey. If anything we should be mad at the club. 2 years ago this side was a playoff team and the club sold off all our top talent leaving Sargent. What is there left for him. We have a young striker to go with the young team. 2nd part of this is it's an opportunity for him to go home. He has young children and maybe it's a decision they find best at this time.
I am glad Norwich are standing firm.But I wouldn’t let him go for £20m either. I also think Sargent isn’t a toy thrower. And will get on with it.
Sarge switched off mid Manning but then again so did everyone else. However Sarge seems over it, missed chances and no goal at CR since August 25. Time for a new start for both parties.
I have heard the deal was done , but they hadn’t told the manager. When the manager found out from Sargent, he flipped out. Suddenly, they changed the narrative. There is guy over here who has connections with the Sargent family, he has been right about everything about Sargent in the past, so I believe him.

He doesn’t want to be a league one player. That would be a disaster for his career so he wants to leave seems pretty straightforward to me.
I think that there will be some weeks of a sulky stand off before Sargent gets his head together,then hopefully he goes on to play the remainder of the season the way he started it.
Goals galore for him and Makama will see him in the world cup.

It’s such a shame, right now wondering why on earth he’s done this – to be closer to family/US, World Cup chances, just done with England and the championship? I honestly don’t hold it against him, yes I think he could’ve done this better à la Sara but this comes at a time where we have Makama and Kvistgaaden both capable of filling that role. Cash in I say wish him all the best, invest that money in a CAM

Sargent is not the best striker in the Championship. He's promised more than he's given IMHO. Norwich wouldn't be where they are if he was the best. Possibly should have gained promotion if he was. Not worth keeping a player who wants to go, but he's needed at least until the end of the season even as a Benchwarmer. Teams need depth. Then, goodbye and thanks for all the fish…

I think that you are all deluded, you have one striker who just happens to have banged in a few goals in the last few game and suddenly the world is great again and you don’t need Sarge anymore.’ Let him go, let him rot’ etc… McKarma rolls his ankle in the next game and what’s plan B. Back the manager. Norwich can't sell him in January. It would humiliate Clement publicly. Pre-transfer for the summer. Sure. But Sargent must be really unhappy here if he felt that he needed to refuse to play. Very strange move by him

I can’t understand the thinking here.
He’s already falling behind Makama, so puts his toys out the pram and seems to think that not playing will force him a move and get him into the USMNT. The best way to get into the team is to score lots where he is, which he could.
I hope they let him warm the bench until summer and then get rid.
I felt in the summer people were reading it wrong. It’s not that he wanted to stay then, there was just an issue with what was on offer. Go back and look at his interview after it – he never said he turned it down because he wanted to stay. He said something like “sometimes things don’t work out”.
