Van Bommel smelling blood and throwing his hat in the ring
So Corenelius is a good ball playing (quarterback) type CB, who can break the lines and play a pass.
The thing is we have had loads of those types recently, and they have all been substandard in Scottish games because they were not commanding in the air or physical enough. I really wanted to hear that is in his locker – not the breaking the lines thing (which has familiar alarm bells ringing for me) First and foremost in Scotland you need to be physically commanding.

Van Bommel would have been an interesting choice, but it’s clear we need an experienced manager who doesn’t need a tablet or classroom tactics, Martin should be gone by the next international break along with Thelwell and hopefully replace him with Mourinho or Marko Rose,
Defending a high back line is easy to bypass,good players that can actually read the game,nowadays few and far between here now can send passes beyone them for fast forwards to attack

Wouldn't hold your breath on the women's chances they've let go plenty of valuable 1st team players and not replaced them , looking very average and I think a 5th place finish behind Hearts this year.
Rangers need a manager than brief his players on three systems at the same time so if needed a transition quickly enough that the whole team can do so the opposition doesn't have time to focus in on what they see as a key player. Van Bommel would cope with that and maybe Van Bronkhorst could be part of a team, also we need a defender as hard as Tam Forsyth who could score from 6 inches and defend the 1 inch line .
