As an American fan, I think you guys are finding out why we all hate this particular team USA men’s squad. It’s like a generation of entitled affluent daddy’s boys who don’t know the basics on how to behave or conduct business like a proper athlete and grown person. Its a business. I think its just as likely Norwich was stringing him and Toronto along! He thought this was the way to force their hand and give him negotiating power! It worked for him and his family. He is in Toronto now. As for Norwich fans they dumped him right away! Why should Sargent feel sorry about the fans dark cloud? Sargent was not going to be selected for USA at all. Balangon, Haji Wright, Pepi are all ahead of him. He just didn't deliver for USA senior team. He was awesome at the youth level.

Fans can get a bit pissy sometimes, not just Norwich but all clubs. Yes, Sargent shat on the club and the fans, and they gave him the dog's abuse for doing so. Since he made it clear he wanted to leave it's been non-stop stick, and rightly so. But given all that it's hardly surprising he hasn't got anything positive to say. It's all his own fault of course but the last couple of months weren't a positive experience for him. Also, all that 'let him rot in the reserves', 'he's going nowhere' bullshit has been proven to be exactly that. I never rated him that highly in the first place and it's already clear that you can thrive without him plus you've got an 8-figure sum in the bank. Everybody wins.
A great player who played in some difficult times for our club. His injury record didn’t help but I’m shocked by his comments. He always came across like he loved the club and his anger should be directed with the board and maybe the manager. To not even acknowledge the fans is criminal for me and unfortunately has tarnished my thoughts on him.
His hissy fit tantrum seemingly succeeded (he's gone) but we ultimately banked the cash and got him off the wagebill so NCFC are the real winners and can now move on….

Personally I think he was overated and not worth the £20m sale, but glad that we got that for him. Injury prone, went through too much inconsistency for my liking, and the ending of his career at Carrow Road was just ridiculous. My sympathy for this jumped up prima donna has literally just expired watching this. IMO he won't be missed.
This will be an ignored comment, and I'm not saying what he did was right when saying he wasn't available against Walsall, but has anybody considered that maybe that concussion had something to do with this? It can lead to behavior changes. Could the agent have manipulated this to push a move? Would be intresting aswell if the team noticed a diffence in he's behaviour.
Or am i barking up the wrong tree just be intresting to see if he says anything to fans in the future…. we all deserve that we were not the problem Obviously. The hierarchy was at the club.
That’s the difference, people like holt weren’t the kind of people to pay for training whereas in the states the fees are extortionate so you know you’re getting entitled players, we need to never look to American football again.
I just don't think he's as decent a bloke as we first thought. He seemed humble in interviews and he stayed with us when he could have left before but it's easy to look like a good dude when you do the odd interview here and there. I thought his summer interview in the club store about summer transfers was interesting. If you watch it, he clearly wanted out and was extremely dismissive. Fact is, like you said, he could have gave us a one word tiny apology or thank tou but instead he just selfishly turned away. So fuck him now. He could have used someone like Gabby as an example. We knew he'd leave but he did it the right way and now our fans love him still and wish him the best.
The sticky situation around strikers is not his fault players got injured.

Why would he? Our fans gave him nothing but flack in his first couple of seasons when he was being played out of position. And we didn’t thank him when he left. Why would he?
Thanks for sharing this insight with what’s gone on in respect of Sargent. Do say I’m disappointed in him would be an understatement! Maybe he was ill advised by his agent, maybe it was a personal family matter that he doesn’t want to discuss, who knows? Whatever, he could have said goodbye to us fans at NCFC. I wish him well in his future endeavours.

I actually think up to the saga he was the consummate professional – he’s human and maybe something was going on in his private life and at the end of the day family is more important than football but it’s sad the way it was handled and I think that’s on his agent
