I wish he stayed 😢
67$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Regragui is the best coach in Moroccan team history but he has made some mistakes in his choices of players, which made many Moroccans upset We are grateful to him but at this point change is necessary
For me he’s a moroccan legend and I will never forget the joy he brought, but it was time for his journey to end.
As a Moroccan im extremely happy for this move from the Royal FA 👍 Regragui lost all the 5 games he trailed 0-1 and those were the ones to win. He lost the plot recently. Im a big fan of Ouahbi since I started following him at the u20 world cup. Very sound tactically wish him the best and Dima Maghrib 🇲🇦🫡
He isnt a bad coach but for whatever reason he started giving Morocco fans the ick. He didnt do bad all things considered. No shame losing an Afcon Final
Mohrino will be in the naxt maneger for morroco
Morocco will crashing out of the World Cup group stage 🇲🇦😢
Maybe Tunisia call him?
I guess Morocco doesn't want to make another semi-final at a World Cup after all
Well there goes the Morocco dark horse world cup run
Football is cyclical and regragui's cycle has reached its end. We are grateful to him for taking us to the WC semi finals and I can say he's the greatest manager in the Moroccan football history. However after the 2022 WC there was a stagnation from his side, playing with the same tactics and becoming an open book to other managers. We could've won the last 2 AFCons in Ivory coast and home. The last Afcon in Morocco it was his fault that we lost he brought 8 injured players, besides of the chaos that Senegal caused and their childish coach leaving the pitch, we played against them with 10 players, he burned all his cards. Morocco didnt sack Regragui he resigned because he said it many times in press conferences that If he doesn't win the afcon he ll leave his place to someone else.
Walid was such a phenomenal coach that, honestly, I never thought Morocco would reach the level it has today within my lifetime. He made that possible, and for that I will always be grateful, simple as that.
The pressure from the Moroccan public and journalists has been unforgiving. Truthfully, in his position, I might have done the same and stepped away. Unfortunately, the negative voices are always the loudest, and because of that we lost a great coach.
As a Moroccan, I will of course continue to support Wahbi and the team. But we also need to acknowledge that we have a serious attitude problem that needs to be addressed.
And regarding all the talk about the African Cup of Nations, throughout my youth up until 2019, many of us didn’t see it as the ultimate goal. For us, reaching the second round of the World Cup often meant more than winning AFCON. CAF still has deep institutional issues, and until fair play and better organization are prioritized, real progress will remain difficult.
I see a lot of ppl saying the timing is risky,Let me remind you, regragui himself was hired 1 month away from WC qatar 2022 and he did what he did,i somewhat trust ouahbi only because he won us the U20 WC,i wanted sektioui too but i heard he refused because of 1- the timing and 2-he want to stay as a manager even if he doesnt do well at WC and other details that we dont know yet, maybe ouhabi is just a temporary coach unless he does very well at WC.
i guess we re having that logic when we signed him 3 months before world cup 2022 we are now like why not it could happen the same thing xd
By the time we reached the AFCON, it was already too late. Regragui clearly hasn't learned from his mistakes. Including players like Saïss, Ben Seghir, El Yamiq, Igmane, Amrabat, and En Nesyri was a mistake, and calling up injured players knowing how injury prone our squad is was inexcusable.
Furthermore, he refused to prepare by playing against Class 1 teams because he was chasing a world record for consecutive wins. We barely beat Tanzania thanks to Brahim Díaz’s individual efforts, and against Cameroon, our two goals didn't even come from open play. Brahim scored 5 out of our 9 total goals; he didn't let Regragui down. Regragui let himself down. If it wasn't for Brahim, Regragui would likely have been knocked out in the first round. I blame him for wasting this golden generation, four years of preparation, and a 50 year dream.
9:52 According to rumors, Sektioui refused to coach the team because he was only offered a short term contract for the World Cup. On the other hand, Wahbi accepted the challenge.
I think Tarik Sektioui should be the new coach
I think the majority of the Moroccan fans knew for a while it was coming and wanted it, Regragui will go down in history as the best coach in Moroccan history no doubt, not necessarly because he was tactically strong, or even because of his achievements, but rather because he changed the mentality from "lets just make it to the big tournements and play entertaining football and lose with dignity" to "we're not here just to take part and we'll do whatever haramball possible to win in any way shape or form", personally i'm very sad but at the same time happy because its the natural developement with a coach in Ouahbi who understands modern football and who's tactically very strong, I hope the FA trusts him tho regardless of the next WC result
Regragui was booed after he lost the final of the afcon , he couldn't stomach it so he left ,,,,, it's an unfortunate thing ,,, but it opens the way to another brilliant morrocan coach who is ouahbi and this guy didn't just reach finals , he won the world cup in the division he was training, and unlike regragui Who play defensive and avoid taking risks ,,,,, ,ouahbi have a much more offensive daring way of play that actually payed off his team is now the worlds champion ,,, so as a morrocan I'm excited to see if he can reproduce that in the senior division
Morocco will regret getting rid of him.
even though Walid is the most successfull Moroccan I think this is a good move from him. I think there was little to gain for himself (being booed/hated by the fans) and the progress at the national team has been stagnant for a long time. If we leave out the great selection, facilities and organization he inherited when he became coach, what were his actual contributions?
* central defender position has not been resolved after the WC22
* striker position has not been resolved after the WC22
* the selection he inherited from Vahid is currently mostly intact (few players came back, El Aynaoui and Diaz that chose Morocco after WC22)
Really only the midfield has been improved by Walid and only at the end of the last AFCON. Yes, he improved the team spirit and the defense of Morocco, but that is just too little after 4 years as head coach. So thanks Walid but Morocco deserves a coach that is as good as the facilities/scouting/selection etc.
Sektioui was supposed to be the next coach but he refused to take an interim position until post the World Cup 2026. He wanted to have a long contract.
I think Ouahbi is the right pick. He is has a strong background and is with the federation for the last 5 years. He knows the federation culture and objectives.
Morocco should appoint Tarik Sektioui as their head coach. He literally guided this country to the Olympics' bronze medal finish in 2024.
He was too eurocentric. El Kaabi, En Nesyri, Hakimi, Ounahi are not that good. Hamdallah 'the executioner' is so much better than them and that's why he got to win a trophy for Morocco.
I think us Moroccans are just too angry because it’s been a while we’ve taken a risk like this I personally am fine with this walids, in my opinion, biggest strength was motivation but I think our squad is much too talented to only rely on that we need real tactics and ouahbi proved his tactical prowess in the u20 wc bro shut down Argentina in the final it was one of the cleanest wins I’ve ever seen in my life it was almost boring to watch and I think abt the experience part we’re building for 2030 ouahbi will be there for it no matter the result at this World Cup and by then he’ll have full confidence and I think we’ll have a legitimate chance to win it all in 2030
As a 9:45 Moroccan we are just as confused as you😭😭😭😭😭
Moroccans won't learn to appreciate him we do appreciate him but change is needed Regragui has mostly a conservative vision he barely tries to make changes in the national team he'd rather bring in injured players than new ones, I respect him but change was needed
Walid will be missed. Great coach!
Herve Rernard was the one who made Morocco strong like the other African teams he managed. Regragui only made small tweaks to the team, the biggest change was the goalkeeper. He wasn't that great. I think Ouahbi would do a better job by using players who can score goals consistently like Zabiri.
Regragui was good but he stagnated hard after the WC then came the previous afcon where he messed up tactically in the last group match playing all the key players and pushing them for a win we didn't need to qualify first thus in the round of 16 we preformed terribly vs south Africa and lost
In the last afcon on our home ground and with overwhelming support he opted to call relics from the past and more than half a dozen injured players ignoring new talent from the u20 national team saying that they are too young for 1st team then he had a shaky start to the tournament but managed to keep winning games until he reached the final where he proved he can't keep his team focused while under media pressure and went on to preform one of the worst matches of our national team tactically in recent years
supposatly Sektioui was first choice but declined the job (asked for a guaranteed long terme contract)
He smelt that they dont trust him anymore and to move a finger, he has to contact the supervisor or the Federation Head. So he fled. At a certain point, it became …Come here for a meeting, come here for a meeting, why did you choose that player, why did you substitute that player
Of course, when there is no more oxygene to breathe, he gonna get the fuck out of there
Every time the Public criticized, come here for a meeting…why did you do such and such ….
I hope we don't regret this. Regragui despite all his flaws he had something.
We Moroccans don't need Billions wasted on football.. We need better Education System and Healthcare…
No country in the world can play its way out of the accumulating socio-political calamities of Systemic Corruption
In Casablanca there are the greens and reds, and before He used to train the reds, so lot of greens hold that grudge and put lot of pressure and critics on him which is stupid. He remains the one who made history and changed the mindset. But tactically we also need more versatility while he's too much defensive, but again all the motivation that will come in the future and achievements it's thanks to GOD and to Walid Regragui.
Bummed about the way his tenure ended 100 days before the 2026 WC, as to what will do to chances of Morocco NT performance, we'll see.
You don't know what you're talking about
he was a eurocentric fraud
خونا مافخبارو والو…. الحرب نايضة مع راس لافوكة ونتا باغيه يبقا
senegal deserved 11 yellow card in the final for violating the law of football also Morocco has to deal with the algerian lobbying the south africain lobbying and egyptian lobbying wich all of them are always anti Moroccans even if argentina played in africa they would lose in tournament if they get targted by lobbying like this was pure robbery and clear violation of laws of football while people prefer to hate on the big team cause we put africa on international scene we give lot of love to africian but some jalous nations spread mis information to tann our image algerians dedicated a budget for proapganda to hit the Moroccan afcon reputation and senegal benefeted from cause it the tool it's simple and how you know that they paid him even the senegal coach that was transported in jail bus in algeria said they organisation was better in algeria and he brought a random competition where they didnt even had bus and trnasported them in jail bus that was clearly all a paid propaganda to stop Morocco from making everyone else look small and lazy by simply hard working but when you keep having good results you gonna start to be hated it's simple that's why argentina is hated in south america and all the big teams in general by the "underdog strory" senegal is not the best team in africa and were just used as tool to attack Morocco and isolate it and tann it's repitution by spreading lie after lie throu the tournament plus senegal bro theire route was way easier and they barly got a real game till the semi final agianst egypt the otehrs games werent even real teams also most of the Moroccoan squad was injued and hakimi didnt play like half tournament if we play another game Morcco will win add to that the propaganda againt morocco and the media attacks and false accusation and jalousy stop sreading non sense Morocco is 8th fifa ranking the best team in africa when senegal reach 7th rank than you can say that
Idk what he’s thinking leaving rn
Crazy that there are genuinely people who think Regragui is the reason for the team’s AFCON “failure” (which making it to extra time in the final against an arguably equally as strong team hardly can be considered one)
You are right. I believe the fans and media will regret the move and will remember the glory days of Regragui era after a disappointing World Cup campaign.
Failed to win the Afcon, didn't deliver results. Logical conclusion
I am Moroccan.the Trap that Morocco has fallen into is that they want to play offensive football because they have a good quality of players but little they know that the only way to go up in tournaments is to play like france defense+ counters . REGRAGUI is a master of that they are going to regret letting him go.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE !
I think he knows those morrocan players very well than any coast I doubt if they will get out of their group
