Why would you think Rodgers is going to be same or better at 43? He threw how many completions to Gainwell? Most teams have mobile QBs when protection breaks down to buy time or run. We would not have either of those options with Rodgers. Prolonging the mediocrity with him and the other aging veterans vs trimming the roster of salary cap and future draft picks to be really good in 28 and on. Assuming we can make good picks which is a big assumption.
Unless Rodgers wins a championship this year, bringing in Rodgers will be like last year, a waste.

Rogers is only wanted by Rooney, who thinks, to keep the non-loosing streak alive. He doesn't want a losing season on his watch…kicking the can down the road. Sucks!
What is going to suck unless Rodgers announce right after 2026 season he retired we going to be right back to the whole waiting game for 2027.
Not sure what the Steelers are thinking pandering to a 42 year old QB with deteriorating skills. They have a chance to play Will Howard and/or Drew Allar in live action to see what they have to offer. Worst case scenario they lose alot , but then have a high draft pick next year. With Rodgers playing they have no idea what the young QBs can do in a game, they might win 9 games, and have the 18th pick in the draft……purgatory.

I blame the Media. Everyone and their 3rd cousin knew Rodgers wasn't going to "sign up" until May at the earliest (last year it was June). So any media coverage of Rodgers from February to April was the media just trying to get clicks. Most of us know that, but there's always a few fans on the verge of a heart attack, who "think it's real." Advice: Get a hobby, spend some time your kids, but until September comes, none of this is real.
