A tough war all the way, both very tough fighters with great chins. Id give the edge in speed to andy ruiz. They both can hit hard, but in terms of stamina id give the edge to quarry. Id say ruiz wins a very tough hard fought decision because of his natural advantages and hand speed. Great fantasy fight. I agree with it being close.
I think your rateing +3 is correct, Quarry is definitely the better fighter who fought much better fighters, but most of the time things were always hard work for him , yes he knocked out Shavers quick but alot of his fights were a grind . Hard to do that against Ruiz who just to big he is 70 to 75lbs heavier has very fast hands and great chin. i can only see Quarry winning if Ruiz was totally out of shape , he looks out of shape but thats different. I think Ruiz on points maybe late stoppage if Quarry gets cut or busted up.

Jerry Quarry is one of my favourite fighters— all the courage in the World,great counter-puncher,incredibly tough.He was just so unlucky to be fighting in the most talent rich era of heavyweight boxing.Having to fight Muhammad Ali AND Joe Frazier ! !
Even though Andy Ruiz's physique is even worse than mine ( 😊 ) this man can fight like hell.He has ridiculously quick hands for his massive bulk, and far lighter on his feet than he should be. Ruiz's serious punching power was on display when he decked Ortiz.No easy task.
So while I agree with your verdict of a Ruiz victory ,with my usual cautious nature I'm rating a Ruiz win at + 1.

I did not agree with you haeding Ruiz beating Witherspoon, and I could not see him beating Qarry. He would have to hurt Qarry very early to win. He has a weight advantage eys, but he showed llater on in his career not to have the best stamina. Against Jarel Milller, a draw, which many felt he lot, and even aginst old Luis Ortiz, he kind of faded in the end. Please correct me if I am wrong, just my reading about the fighs. fights. Qarry beat Buster Mathis by a wide margin, a boxer who had nearly a 40 pound weight advantage, and Mathis, like Spencer, and Mac Foster, were never there same after they lost to Jerry Qarry. Also Ruiz seemed to have gerater love for the refrigerator than he did boxing. A close fught yes, but have to give the edge to Qarry. Of the men who Qarery lost to, the only ones who would have definitely beaten QWarry in his prime were ALi and Frazier. Even Ken Norton was fortunate not to fight teh pre WQarry befoe the second fight with Freazer.

I don't See Ruiz knocking out Quarry, no way, but I also don't see the opposite. I believe Quarry had better fundamentals, beat Shavers and had a draw with Ronny Lyle, but Ruiz ist faster and heavier…. I really don't have any Imagination, about the Outcome, but my Heart is with Quarry, a real Warrior !!!!!!!

When I saw the video, I figured you would have Ruiz winning, but I thought you might have it by stoppage. Quarry clearly fought better fighters, but Ruiz is very underrated, mostly because of his appearance. I think this is a bad style match-up for Quarry. I see Ruiz winning by possible blood stoppage. +4.
