  1. CJ I watched you play and Jimmy Mataya was commentating. I believe he said he would be happy to take the girls you chucked away😂 because they were beautiful, and you certainly had a very pretty young lady in your corner that day.

  2. I remember when you beat Mark Tadd 2 8 ahead sets (maybe 9 ahead) at Cue Club.

You never missed a ball. Mark never got out of the gate. I was living in Vegas then and Mark was in dead punch. I was there and saw every shot. JA was there that night as well. Everyone was there.

You were unbeatable that night. Nobody in the world could have beat you that night.

Fun fact. You made 4/4 jump shots with a full cue. Back then making a jump shot was much more difficult then. Now it’s not a big deal.

  3. I've always wondered how the top players from a generation or two ago, you know who they are, would fare against todays top players. Pool back then was a bit more rough and tumble compared to today's sanitized game. Cracks me seeing Keith McCready having a smoke and a beer while playing a tournament. You guys were playing road games, gambling and such. Todays players to my knowledge aren't doing that, or never have. They're training year round like machines. They're also playing with much tighter pockets then back then. My feeling is players from back then would be just fine in today's world. Why? Because the center of the pocket is the center of the pocket and position is position no matter what generation is playing.

  4. Great stories. Funny I was a +2 in golf playing 175 rounds a year after I quit a high level of pool in the early 90’s. I was playing the toughest course I ever played the Dragon in Grey Eagle Ca out of Truckee early 2000’s playing from the tips the course record was 73. There was 4 four 4’s after your tee shot you had 190 to 220yrs into the green for your 2nd shot. Long story short I was even par thru 15 & my buddy I was playing with who played with Phil Mickelson in college was telling me I was playing great all day says man dude you are on pace to shoot the course record. I was like ya & then tripled #17 and shot 75 & the club house said they wanted to invite me back for low shooters end of year shoot out. I was always a better pool player than I was in golf. I always tell people my pool handicap is like a +4 in golf terms. Someone else here mentioned Fargo to golf. When comparing the 2 which is to of the best games ever invented imo I guess you can take the top percentage players like Gorst & Filler at 850 fargos vs Tiger & Rory at +6+/- handicaps. Take the top 2% of golf handicaps vs the top 2% of pool players and you’ll get your estimated Fargo to golf. My guess is a scratch golfer is like a 700+ Fargo. Good stuff!
