I remember this moment, hot sunny day in Zagreb even though it was 5PM. Eating a slice of free pizza with my friends, yep a pizzeria gave us one big free pizza. All in checkered t-shirts. At that moment we stood up and celebrated. We thought we will win for the first time in the World Cup. Even though I think the ref ruined the final with the penalty, it was a big success being 2nd in the world. It was just another success for Croatian sport. From 1992 on the Summer Olympics as 2nd in basketball all the way to Davis Cup winners in 2018. Great for a country still recovering from a 4-year long Croatian War of Independence.
