Used the Staff Model all last year. Great ball, maybe a slightly firm feel off the putter face. Only moved away from it when this years model spiked massively on price. They are doing deals again, so when I run out I think I’ll be going back.
The Titleist Pro V1 X seems to be in both 2nd and 10th position in the overall leaderboard? Or have I missed something?
I played the Mizuno balls this year and really like them
Honestly I don't think you can declare that a ball has good stopping power based on spin. I've tried both the Wilson Staff Model and the Model X and no they don't have great stopping power at all. They are in fact quite average to below average compared to other balls I've tried like the Srixon Z-star and Q-star tour.
I have switched to the Mizuno Pro S and love them.
Where are Taylomade, you can't do a ball test without them!
Played mizuno pro x today. Shot an 80. Really liked it putting and inside 85 yards was great. Was able to stop without roll out.Didn’t like it off the tee. I have nice smooth takeaway with smooth fast transition. swing speed around 105 but felt I really had to swing fast to get it out past 270. On the other hand I have been playing Wilson Staff Model X for a couple years and love that ball. Off the tee a smooth controlled strong swings just launches the ball. Love the sound of it. Great feel off irons and putts so much better than a Prov x and way better than regular pro v for putting. Sticking with the Wilson Staff x. I will say if you swing speed is a little slower try the Wilson Triad. Cheers.

Last week I was looking up compression charts and liked what I saw with the mizuno pro x. Along with that with my local PGA store had them on sale. I bought some 2 days ago and will be testing them out tomorrow. Just by watching videos like this, I feel like Im gonna like them.
Good stuff. My driver speed is c.95 to 98mph so not as quick as you but not a million miles away. Playing the Mizuno x ball just now and like it from a feel perspective and tbh, I don’t notice it being any better or worse than any other premium ball I’ve played. (Maybe scuff up a bit more than I’d like). I want to try the Wilson x so this has given me the push to buy a box. 👍🏻. I like a firmer ball for the feel of wedge and putter and it’s the only reason. I’m not sure that I could tell the difference off longer clubs between one premium ball and another on the golf course. (Can you?)
I gamed the Wilson Staff ball this year, because I wanted a low flight and slightly firmer feel. It performed well for me.
Pro S for me. Brilliant ball from driver to putter. And far cheaper than all the main brands.
I found a Mizuno Pro and played it for a day until I lost it. Must have been the x because it felt very firm, almost hard. The distance was farther than the Tp5 x and Pro v 1 x as far as I could tell

How different or similar are the Wilson Triad and Staff Model in your testing?
Makes no sense. You said the staff model was the longest and showed that, then you made the model X number one and said it was the longest and it didn't beat the non X staff model in any way.
My swing speed is in the 75-80 range. I played Wilson Duo Soft for several years and loved the feel around the greens, but I was consistently 10-20 yards short of my playing partners off the tee. I got a deal on Wilson Staff Models recently, and my distance off the tee improved by about 10 yards, plus the stopping ability on the green with chips and short pitches is markedly better. In addition, the Wilson Staff Model rolls truer on the green than the Duo Soft. I am sticking with the Models for now.

All these tests are proving are your swing speed and consistency of strike aren't good enough for the Tour balls. (I'm only referring to the dispersion stats)

I do play Wilson staff golf balls. I recently had back surgery and I went to the triad ball love it to but I always play Wilson staff my swing speed is 98
but the one category that matters most here is dispersion and the Mizuno X wins every time. Surely you would sacrifice a yard for much better dispersion – especially with shorter irons!

I have the Mizuno S. Good softer feel and distances. Issues were stopping power into greens and durability. For summer play I need more spin for my mid ball flight.
I use the Wilson Staff model X ball.
I have tried most of the leading X golf balls ie PRO VIX, TP5X , CALLAWAY CHROME TOUR X, BRIDGESTONE TOUR BX however the WILSON model X for me is THE standout performer. Great feel, distance and stopping power on the greens . Its so gratifying to use a ball comparable to other major brands with a 50% lower price tag.
Wilson Staff is it.
