I think they need just focus on consistently qualifying for international tournaments, which is very hard in UEFA region, and improving the quality of the domestic league to the level of Netherlands or better where the top teams can consistently perform in the champions league and attract top talent not just aging stars. Once they reach these benchmarks consistently they can focus on doing well and competing in these tournaments. For the last few decades Turkey has struggled to qualify for Euros and World Cups and the domestic league has been a retirement option for European players where their careers go to fade — not a serious competition. Turkey has a lot of things to work on…
