Absolutely brilliant midfielder. Ability to beat the press by dribbling is very unique. Croatia at one stage had Brozovic, Kovacic, Modric and Rakitic – better than any English midfield in history.
He was so good for us, him, Jorginho and Kante were so key to us winning the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup and UEFA Europa League. He was always appreciated by the Chelsea supporters at the Bridge.
As a Chelsea fan, Kovacic is a class act. A player with highest technical skill, ball control and dribbling ability. However, as good a player he is, he doesn't get you enough goals or assists to be compared with truly world class players in his position. But at the end, he has won every major club trophy and a CV that includes playing for Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Mancity. So good on him.

Kovacic hasn't left a significant footprint at one particular club, he was technically good at a few great clubs without being a main character, Chelsea's CL run being a rare exception. That's what stops him from being considered great, his argument is based on technical quality without much football emotion attached to it

In Croatia he was always in little shadow of Modrić but was top player from the beginning in Dinamo Zagreb. He is kinda unappreciated but you cant play for Inter, Real, Chelsea and City by chance but it means that you are world class.
