Eustaquio's goal absolutely saved Canada and I am elated that Canada won. However, Canada's overall inability to "finish" (J. David, Oluwaseyi, Shaffelburg, etc.), they were looking destined to OT and inevitably PKs. South Africa is not a good team and Canada were extremely fortunate to have them in the R32. However, South Africa's chances of pulling off the "upset" slowly grew the longer this game remained 0-0. If you believe the "minutes restriction theory" with Davies, Marsch was going to have to sub him off if they went to OT…where would Canada have been then? It's better to be lucky than good…Canada is a mid-level quality team overall, but fortune truly shone upon them today and we are very grateful for this!
