Why don’t they just charge a monthly fee to use the PWA app and have access to all the live events all the standings all the information and all the video footage like fuboTV..?…perhaps 10$ a month…
Really good podcast , i hope the PWA has used the lock down to land some more sponsors . Be awesome to see you guys get paid handsomely for your skills and commitment to the sport. Let’s hope some huge eco energy companies see this as a good marketing campaign for wind power. Failing that RC for business development of the PWA
Be great to see a dunckerbeck interview and ask about his opinion on what direction the sport should take especially as his little one is ripping it up and would want him to do well out of it
Another awesome interview by Maciek. Ricardo’s my favourite wave sailor of the current crop and great to get an insight into what he really thinks. Good to hear he’s working on his reactions / anger. He’s clearly got some great ideas as to how the sprit can grow and increase the money in the sport which in turn would attract more talent. I hope he uses his position in the sport to influence direction and not leave it to others. Keep these coming please. Are you getting Nik Baker on? 🤙
Nice to see the real people behind the social media and media campaigns. Ricardo is nowhere near the grumpy git I thought he was 😉 Awesome to see him with Naish too, feels like Robby is back at supporting windsurfing with Ricardo & Justyna – sensational work!
Watching Ricardo compete in the PWA in the last years was for me true entertainment. He is a true pioneer of windsurfing, his push forwards are the best in the business and I am excited to hear him talkingcabout the possibility of a push double forward. Wow. I feel his frustration about the lack of money in the Sport but the sport needs to grow before that happens. He can still be thankful that he can make any kind of living doing what he loves. He is still living the life we all dream about. Good luck for 2021 I hope he will get that world crown he truly deserves.
Follow the UFC model. MMA used to be one of the lowest paid sports, until they rebranded created a great product and marketed well. Hand pick fewer but the best athletes to compete in the events for a large prize. Compete in fewer, better locations to cut down on the cost.
Excellent series of podcasts with a brilliant interviewer – Maciek, who has done his research and keeps the podcasts on topic and relevant. Please keep them coming and would love to hear some grommets and silver hair windsurfers interviewed. Diversity is a wonderful thing and everyone has a story to be told.
Ricardo, as inspirational sailor as you are, you are coming across here as somewhat bitter and ungrateful, apologies for being so forthright. You have been given the opportunity to spend some of your life doing something wonderful. With such talent and career, you might ask yourself in such instances as this interview, if you have the opportunity to represent your sponsor in a better way. In the greater windsurfing world that indirectly supports you (us), there are those motivated to devote their lives to windsurfing by means other than financial reward, success and recognition. As examples, there are the unsponsored sailors who throw everything that they have at the opportunity to compete. There are those that choose to live in a van to pursue their windsurfing dreams, giving up all the luxuries of modern life and accepting the hardship that it may entail. And here are all the windsurfing instructors around the world who barely scrape a living, but have a passion to help people learn. Many of these people are mindful enough to find deep contentment in what they have chosen to do and have realised their true path to happiness comes from inside. You do not seem happy, but have every reason to be so. Being able to windsurf and be in the ocean is a privilege, particularly in these times. Let us not forget also those who have a deep love of windsurfing, but for whatever reason simply cannot. World wave title or not, when the windsurfing industry finally casts you adrift in the world and you have to find something else to do with your life, please don’t find yourself looking back with any regret.
Guys you covered a lot of what problems the sport has and why but I still feel something is missing. I think I found the missing parts in this brilliant analysis! https://youtu.be/OTu0xk58BjY
Why is the first 30 seconds Low Definition, that is 100 pixels and out of focus, and stupid music at full signal strength? Then suddenly we see our great guy in front of a hundred thousand bitcoins camera. Please skip that 30 seconds of junk next time. I hate those pointless fake syncless frames and white noise. Skip that crap. I want to see the great selfie footage. Random old shit is far from okay. Showing history, showing old but relevant footage is great. These first 30 seconds just got me pissed. Don't you hate the guy editing this shit yourself? You do such wonderful video's, and now this? WTF?
Okay, I just dislike the 30 seconds intro. But hell, it sucks. Am I right? What do YOU tink?
Great interview. From the press I’d always thought that RC was a brilliant windsurfer but a bit of a spoiled brat. But seeing this he comes across as level headed and very passionate for the sport, with some good ideas. I hope he gets his World Championship – he deserves it!
Unfortunately the best way to proof that talent is not enough to be a professional windsurfer. There is more to do for the big bunch of money you want to get. I am sorry to say.
funny as hell interview.. (Kauli Seadi next) anyone who can Piss the Rich Greedy Windsurfing Industry off (and i mean the Watersports Industry as a whole the fcukin lot of them Surfing,Kiting.. SUP..Wing.. Etc..).. LMAO ..keep up the good work.. Greed and Money Hey PMSL

Wanna improve? 1. Speak proper english. 2. Stop saying "Like…", "You know…" 1000 times. Explain internal stuff eg. first names says nothing to many people
Great podcast! Ricardo is a windsurfing legend!

Get off your phone Ricardo! Your attention was elsewhere and you seemed uninterested. Unprofessional… 🙁
