  1. The beginning of the video seems to argue that USA should not adapt its defensive scheme to the opponent, which IMO is foolish. The last graphic discussing Tyler Adam's doesn't include the #10 in Berhalter's system – much of the information here seems rather inaccurate

  2. Well made video. I think Tyler Adams' passing range is underrated. Adams is clearly the best choice right now, but I think our depth has significantly increased in that #6 role, which is great! Will only push all the players within that #6 role in the USMNT even harder to improve.

  3. It looked like he wants to press high with Adams and mckennie and that kid from Valencia playing in midfield attacking and created space for runs for Reyna and other wingers along with forwards towards goal. The mls squad was playing against inferior opponent so it was hard to tell what was going on cause every thing was wide open

  4. Short Version of this Video:

Berhalter has a vision of what style of soccer he wants to play.

But Berhalter also doesn't have unlimited pieces to fill into this vision. So he has been adapting his system to the pieces that he does have, trying to find the best fit of pieces and system for what he is likely to have in 2022.

But will Berhalter be able to adapt a system to one of his best pieces? Given the fact that he's probably played 1/3rd of the games he's wanted to play to this point, and on top of that many of his best pieces have been injured and unavailable during international breaks, that's really hard to say.

  5. The alternative is to go with whoever at the 6 in WCQs, probably Adams, and if no one steps up possibly switch to three at the back and use a ball play center back: Brooks, and insulate him with Miazga and Richards.
