From what I've seen this season, he is only OK at center back. He looks better when protected by City's passing structure. Plus now refs are finally calling it where bigger guys can't get away with what would be fouls for smaller players. You see the same with VVD. He used to get away with fouls because he's so big, but lately they call them more
