  1. Questions for discussion: With MLB owners seriously threatening a lock-out, what effect do you think it will have on MLS? How much longer will baseball be able to hold a higher status than soccer? Will soccer become the #3 sport by the 2026 World Cup?

  2. Credit to Williamson for being transparent… I’d love to hear transparent comments on how the “system” compares to Juve and Chelsea from Weston and Puli.

  3. As far as marsch goes, why would we want to replace an inflexible coach with another inflexible coach?
I would look elsewhere. I know we can't go with non-American coach but would love a coach with international experience.

  4. Rhetorical question: If the primary objective was to qualify for the 2022 WC, did it make sense to hire a manager with such a complicated, inflexible, and time consuming system?

  5. Is it an american coaching trait to not be flexible? I hope Marsch learns to be flexible. He would be good for a team that has youth like Monaco.

  6. It all make sense as to why the play seems so constricted and slow. Players don’t ‘get it’ so we devolve into the playing it out wide n slingin it into the box..This is the Steve Sampson 3-6-1 from ‘98 all over again.

  7. Well look at how some of the players played outside of the national team. ie Brendan Aaronson looks great for Salzburg, but for the US he has looked decent but not great.

  8. GGG wants to be an American Football coach. He would send in plays if he could or he would have the players wear wireless ear pods so he can talk to them and tell them what to do throughout the game. Lol

  9. Derek, tell Brett that the Pee-Wee thing is inspired.
Also, 3 CRM systems at once would send me to Excel or Google docs =)

  10. It's predictable and conservative to a fault. We simply don't have enough players committed to the attack in the box at any given time… usually one striker and one wing or wingback coming in from the weak side… i.e. being out numbered in the box nearly all the time.

  11. The fact that whenever the USMT gets any type of space in the final 3rd…we pass back…every…freaking….time. Makes no sense.. .

  12. Off-topic CCV update: There are rumors that West Ham, Leicester, and Wolves are after Cameron Carter-Vickers. It will be interesting to see if Celtic want to break their record transfer fee to keep him. They just got back French CB Christopher Jullien back from injury, so they might not want to break the bank on a defender. It will be interesting to see what happens with him over the summer. If he goes to the Premier League, that might change some minds about his inclusion in our national side.

  13. I really liked Williamson in gold cup. He’d be a good option to have now. But it’s baffling to me that Gregg hasn’t realized that it’s not a club team

  14. Why don’t we let the other team have possession sometimes? So we can catch them on the counter. So we don’t have to worry about 10 players in the box

  15. Bottom line: When one or two players underperform, it's on them, but when almost every player underperforms, it's on the coach. Looking at the quality of our players, the quality of the opposition, and the results, we are significantly underperforming in WCQ. That has to be on GGG.

  16. Where does Williamson fit in the pecking order once fully recovered from his injury? He had some moments where he looked promising over the summer but now it seems like nobody talks about him since his injury and the emergence of Busio, de la Torre, and even Tessman who has yet to even get on the field for us.

  17. I am curious how much of the issues are more because of player selection (which everybody complains about) because it seems like the most painful games come when we play guys with lead feet
