That was a terrible call on that Ball State game cover, but I couldnt imagine that kind of beat down from Tennessee. If Nelson plays as many years at Ogden’s level then your answer is easy. Pay him.
Nelson wants a Super Bowl. He’s not going to “break” the Colts or render them incapable of building a team around him. Ballard will construct a contract with a heavy front end and guaranteed money which will allow the Colts to remain competitive.
An extension will be announced before game 1 and everyone will be happy.
