They're already at such a huge disadvantage because of the way they develop youth talent compared to the rest of the world, can't see this sort of thing being any help at all.
How do you expect USAMNAT to 'build' a team from trash? It doesn't matter who the HC is, he has NOTHING to work with. Until player development is sorted we will continue to butt our heads against the wall. PS – 2026 will be no different as that generation of player development is already lost.
I agree completely. I'm a Sports Management major and Marketing minor…I have learned what not to do from these past months of US soccer essentially sitting around not hiring a coach with a plan, not fixing the development of youth across the country, and not fixing any other minor problems.
I'm an American. I like soccer. I love the USMNT. But at this moment, I think I want them to miss the next world cup too…maybe then something would actually change. I really just want the USSF to burn to the ground. Let's start over.

That's what happens when your focus is not the success of your national side, or development of the game, or even increasing the pool of talent by getting kids playing – they would rather make money and Be The Boss. And have fun with nepotism. Bloody hell, sounds almost like here in South Africa!
This whole cluster has driven me nuts. Fully agree with everything you said. What has me even more upset is that it seems like no one else was even contacted in regards to the position. The U.S.S.F. wants to be classified as a non profit, when all they care about is their profit.

USA needs flexible style that is able to win on poor surfaces in central America and the islands. Small passes and cleaver dribbling loses to long ball, set piece brutality that emphasizes defense and counterattacks. That is hard to watch, will qualify us but won't win many world cup matches. So someone who can do two styles and build a great defense and good set piece will be needed. Youth development focuses on individual talent. Great passers and good defenders are lost.
The mens team is an embarrassment. The MLS is a terrible league and your picking one of there coaches and not even the champions coach. Four more years of trashy soccer no world cup and we start again.
Just keep your hands off the women's team pay them more money and we have world cups and Olympic gold medal to look forward to. I'd rather watch the women's team
The coaching search was pathetic, but Gregg Berhalter is a MUCH better coach than you are leading on. Easily the best american tactician ever, although thats not saying a whole lot. possession based style of play and easy on the eye. hes not an elite name but has a bright future at higher levels than USA

Thank you for the video. You definitely brought some great insight into this situation that has been going on for a while now. Personally, I think the hire of Gregg is the right move for now. To my knowledge, I don't think there were any other candidates who were interested in the job that would take USMNT to the next level. I'm not saying Gregg will, but I do think he is an upgrade from Arena and Klinsmann.
You bring such valid points but who knows maybe Gregg Berhalter does great as head coach will have to see how he does against Panama this month.. i wonder why did they not try harder to convince Tata Martino to be head coach of the USMNT, he is very familiar with how the MLS works and has a better record than berhalter, is it cuz he is not american? really sucks that he signed to our rivals Mexico
I am the biggest US soccer fan there is but man idk, we have yet to show any REAL progress and honestly it all stems from the youth system. They cant develop the youth system for shit. And because of that the mls is bad especially since a lot of our players come from mls. The only reason why pulisic is "big" is because he didnt really go through the youth system here in America. I have to spend around $2,000 to play in a top league, like wtf is that. So much talent is wasted.
You guys are strange how you manage your sporting teams. What is a General Manager have to do with a sporting team? And you mean manager not coach 😜 lol. What is wrong with wanting to hire someone that speaks the country's language properly?
