  2. An interesting note – Charles has only been one-shot KO'd once in his entire career, by a very sharp Cub Swanson at a 146lb catchweight – and even that was a delayed knockdown/knockout. I think we're playing up how bad his "chin" is. He certainly doesn't have a great chin by any stretch, but we shouldn't act like he's in the same category as a James Vick.

Edit: I agree a clean shot from Usman would shut his lights out. That guy has insane power and reach.

  3. Anyone else think that they’re overrating Spann way too much? Like talking about him fighting Jamahal Hill when he only won a split decision to Sam “the goat” Alvey. I think Cutelaba sleeps him in the first.

  4. No picks podcast is complete without Jamie's 'I'm a big fan of [insert fighter name]' line on at least 5 of the fights

  5. I sure do miss seeing that red freaking Mohawk an octagon, it sure was a pleasant experience running into you on YouTube good to see your face again Dan Hardy!

  6. Michael Johnson's record…oof. His style is awful IMO. He relies almost exclusively on quickness. That is going to disappear soon as he gets a little older. I may pick Patrick even though he fights like a sloppy spazz.

  7. Bets are in. We'll see how much each punter would win or lose with a $100 bet on each of their picks according to Sportsbet decimal odds. Highest positive cash gained will be crowned this week's "Very Skilled Individual"

  8. @rick deckard first off no he wasn’t talking about leg reach he was just talking about reach in general . Meaning the range the fight was going to be dictated at would always be on rakic’s terms and Jan wouldn’t be able to defend the low kicks effectively without opening himself up . The OP is 100% right and it showed in the fight . Rakic was getting his legs torn apart because Jan was always able to time the check and when Jan would kick he would always catch rakic attempting to close distance and planting on his lead leg . Rakic kept getting stuck off balance in awkward positions and have to shift weight in a attempt to reset and retain his balance and it’s what ended up blowing out his knee . Jan looked extremely good and returned to form , rakic looked good just a little nervous after getting clipped a couple times resulting in him losing confidence he was going
To be able to win the fight on the feet. I would also like to see rakic bring his feet with him when he throws his hands he’s got a beautiful 1-2 but is always a foot short when he throws it because he needs to plant to throw . Id like to see his work one or the other more too like do some work behind your jab to bring you into range and then throw in combination and close the door with a hook as your rolling out . Or throw a lead straight to catch someone flat footed. Jan could predict the 2 coming behind the
1 because it was the only thing rakic threw with his hands . N when you get predicable like that you’re killing your ability to be first with your straight punching because everyone knows all they need to do is take a step back the second the jab is close to the guard .

  9. Fair play you called the Spann fight to a tee. I would've made some nice bank on a parley including it if Maximov the flop didn't get choked in 70 seconds as the biggest favourite on the card. 🤦‍♂️ Appreciate the work boys will be tuning in regularly.

  10. This card's pick accuracy:

    Dan – 73%, Jamie – 45%

    Dan vs Jamie cumulative accuracy:

    Dan – 58%, Jamie – 52%

    Dan vs Guests cumulative accuracy:

    Dan – 58%, Guests – 60%

Excludes fights where only one person picks to keep the total comparisons fair. Cumulative is since UFC265 when individual picks started being made (prior to that the collective made a pick together).
