I rate Frank can start with a 4-4-2 diamond for the first couple of games till Hudson Odoi is back and then he can gamble with a winger system like let’s say a 4-3-3 if that makes sense
I think we should stick with the 4-3-3 formation because players such as Jorginho and Batshuayi can excell. The 4-2-3-1 is a good formation if we bring on Giroud because that is all based on a striker who can hold up the ball which is what Abraham and Batshuayi struggle with. It is very good that he shows his adaptability early on which gives us all hope and optimism

I agree with your concern regarding the diamond formation because in premier league as well as in UCL it exposes our defense. As in the top tiers generally full backs bombard the attacking areas along with midfielders i.e wingers, therefore playing a diamond would create a lot of problems for our full backs. How ? well, a small example; counter attacking to a diamond formation would stretch the team by playing straight balls through wide channels, which if there is an overlaping run from a full back one of the CB or midfielders needs to take care of it which would lead to a gap in the midfield or defense position and could easily be capitalized upon, especially by a team that could counter attack, and in the league most teams sit back and counter against big clubs like chelsea.
Now, i could easily explain flaws and problems chelsea would have in diamond formation even though we have good talent in the mid, but if we could stream i could explain it more comfortably.
I waskinda hoping for overview on Ampadu's loan move to Leipzig and how he would fit in at Nagelsman tactics and who would he be competing against in his position.
