GB doesn’t know what he’s doing. He’s so average as manager. They qualified due to the talent on the team, not because of his coaching. He doesn’t even know how to get the best out of his players.
This is the coach we have, going into the World Cup. Bro is clueless in every game we play. He’s tactically inept. I am just frustrated and drained emotionally bruh. I refuse to waste my energy anymore complaining cause at this point me and the fanbase have been doing this for years now and the usmnt board don’t listen. I’m just done 😔
I'm starting to think people don't watch the games. Brooks is not consistent. Just cause he has a starting role in a top league with occasional champions league doesn't mean it translates directly to a US starting role. The team would have to be built around brooks for it to work which won't happen. We're at a stage where we got options.
I can’t get behind this. I think it’s a matter Brooks doesn’t fit into our system very well. A lot of times we have guys going forward and might get hit on the counter and Brooks just isn’t the right guy to be in those situations. One of other teams game plan would be to go after Brooks on counters because he is slow to get back. For all his up side he is too much of a liability.
This isn't as bad as Klinsman leaving Donavan off but pretty much the same situation. It IS personal and the coaches just are not man enough to admit it, because as a coach it is poor form to admit that talent does not matter if you get on my bad side I will do whatever I want because I'm the coach…because at this level it is supposed to be about talent but let's face it thee are always egos at play. Something happened and Greg isn't letting him back on the team period the end full stop!! There are ZERO scenarios where Brooks is not one of the best 4 CBs the US has especially now with Robinson out.
And this is why I'm hoping that he is a one cycle coach. We don't need to see two WC cycles worth of playing and calling in players that he is "comfortable" with. Instead of the most talented players because he doesn't know how to manage them. Or have the correct tactics to utilize them. What a nightmare would be if the federation is stupid enough to extend him after the WC.
He only brought 4 CBs. Should have brought both Brooks and CCV. Especially being that GB has stated he wants to try out a 3 man back line. Running with one extra CB and leaving out Brooks who has probably played more in a 3 man backline than an of our CBs. I suppose Cannon could be included, but you can't tell me he's a better CB than Brooks. Seems its maybe more about a personality clash which is an indictment of Berhalter. A BIG part of managing is man managing- dealing with- bringing together a wide variety of personality into a cohesive group- even some you don't like.
