  1. Was at a shop (not a Burton dealer) and the employees were talking shit about the performance of the Step-On’s, they had not tried them, and yet this video seems to show they won’t hold a rider back. I can imagine Burton of all board companies has enough R&D to come out with a great product

  2. I bought the first edition Step Ons in the Box. I wouldn't give them up for anything. I'm 65 years old and the Buckling Up wS too much of a hassle especially at the end of the day when my back get sore. I have really Skinny legs and feet and this is the 1st time I've ever felt completely fixed to my Board. Step Ons are the Future for sure.

  3. If only they weren't more expensive than my car. 😀 Great dynamic review. Love that smooth carving. Gonna learn that next weekend. Or at least try to.

  4. Love them, but like you mentioned, they lose a small percent of convenience with the forward lean set

  5. Had these for about two full seasons now. Love the versatility of being easy to get in and out of. However, I have one big and one small gripe. First the big: There is way too much vertical play in the rear catch mechanism. After the rear catch is locked in, there is about 3-4mm of vertical play in the heal rise and fall, what this translates to is laxity in switching from heal-side to toe-side. The minor gripe is that these things are super "creaky." All you hear is creaking plastic under heavy toe and heal-side loads.

  6. this is an old review, but i jsut wanted to provide some feedback after putting a solid 60 days in this season (and a lot of 7 day weeks).

I am of the experienced opinion straps are garbage now. Nothing holds edge to edge like these. I only wish burton would loosen up the licensing and let more manufacturers start iterating.

I want aa splitboard specific version.

    I want all the things.

when im on sketchy traverses and steeps…… i have TOTAL control…… there;s just no comparison. Its like the best part of hardboots /w a softboot.

All that "ease of use" for the boomers comes way last.

  7. I have the 2021/2022 version, they eliminated the chatter, and I think the pants clip is higher, these things kick ass just get off the lift gliding and just step in don't even have to skate, edge to edge response is insane.

  8. Just got step on bindings (2nd gen) and photon boots (the ones with a boa strap imitating a normal binding). So far really happy with it. I am an intermediate rider.

  9. I just got them. To know that you approve of them confirms my confidence in them. Bought them for the convenience but going to keep them for the performance. Thanks

  10. I like the bindings but the boots makes my feet sore especially little finger because of the front outer attachment pulling down on the boot putting the pressure on the feet

  11. I just spent a week riding with straps for the first time in a loooong time after a decade away from riding (I rented for the week). I hated the hassle of straps and so did my back. Wished every moment I'd brought my old Switch boots and bindings with me on my trip. I'm going to buy a new setup for the 2022/23 season and 100% it is going to be with step on bindings and boots.

  12. Hi Ryan, love your vids and ride your board in a 29cm waist width. I'm using large Burton Step On bindings and often boot out on the heel cup. Do you have any recommendations for a good Flow binding? You mentioned them before.
