I don't think the game against the Sabre's means anything at this point. The chances of making the playoffs are so low that management will be listening to all opportunities that are presented to them. These two games were crucial to stop any trades. In my opinion they needed to get 3 out of 4 points to even have a reasonable chance at staying in the race. It still isn't over but i can hear the fat lady warming up back stage. I suspect you will see some moves before Monday noon, but i don't expect too much coming back but they no doubt will get something rather than nothing. You know you are in trouble when 4 different defenseman cough up the puck in the first five minutes, and that wasn't the worst of it either. More pain coming and not just this year, maybe the next two seasons. It isn't going to get better any time soon the way i see it. Too bad i really like this team but they just can't play without the puck. Go Flames Go, or maybe Oilers. lol

Going back to the road trip when they lost to the likes of the Panthers and Lightning, it should be clear that this team is not elite and cannot be a consistent contender. This team needs to sell to re-stock. At the very least, the d group minus Hughes should go… get some picks, free some cap space… that would at least give you some wiggle room.
Some players on the team looked hurt or fatigued…lack of any depth really showed after couple months of grinding, over paid veterans and lack of young players really hurts our chance to compete even at the trade market!
Whole roster must be open for discussion outside of Demko and Hughes. If they selloff their better players like Horvat or Miller then they're basically throwing in the towel for a long term rebuild.

I am glad we lost the last two games and understands the we need to sell NOW. Better this than playing the last game of the season only to miss the playoffs by two points. And the way the current team is constructed we are nowhere close to actual contendng. I hope we get a good haul for JT.
The question I ask is why isn't golden boy (petterson) ever in talks when things like this happen? The return on him would be the highest for a guy who is skilled but soft, inconsistent, and nobody can play with him. We can't continue to build and gut this team around him. IMO boeser isn't the problem. Miller, horvat, and Myers isn't the problem. Get rid of golden boy, pearson, poolman, garland, hamonic. (Miller only if the return is mind blowing) and you resign motte and get your self some first round picks, top prospects, and possibly sign another solid veteran piece or two in free agency. Set yourself up for another run next year and maybe some deeper runs for the future.

To have recovered as much as they have this season and make a valiant climb up the charts, I think they've improved a lot since Boudreau took over. I don't want to sell a big name player like Boeser or Garland, I think the AHL depth can cover a lot of guys from the bottom six that can be sold.
