  1. So we've all had a few days to digest the Detroit Lions 2023 NFL draft. After hearing Chris and the Riz discuss the Detroit Lions haul, how do you feel about the draft? Best player taken? Worst? Let us know in the comments below!

  2. I think the draft eas really good if you take into consideration Levi, Vaiti, and Walker are going to be back. If those giys play up to the level we expected of them and can stay healthy, then we sre set. I know thats a big IF but we brought back most of our defense from last year and we did a lot to improve our weakness, the secondary defense in FA. Add these missing pieces and the expectations that our young players like Hutch should get even better, i also expect a lot more from Pascal this year, then thos defense is going to be a whole lot better this year. Now, this offense should be dynamic with an improved running game and more recievong weapons for Goff. Off nall linebacker was still a little weak but that's why they made a bot of a reach to get Cambell to fix that. IF we can be fairly healthy and those guys coming back can play up to expectations with the additions we made in the draft, at least 4 guys that can start, then this team is going to be really good. The loss of Jamo for the first 6 games hurts us. I hope we have a softer schedule those games. I think we should win the division. with 11 games, i was thinking 12 but that lose of Jamo to start could cost us a game somewhere just because thats less experiance for him going into the second half of the year Love the photo of Riz frozen up😂, he looks really happy 😊

  3. Chris: I’ll trust the teams with millions of dollars of scouting departments, etc. over some guy doing mocks by himself. Also Chris: Emory gets more right than some NFL GMs. Me: Huh?

  4. So this is my favorite podcast period but mr jeff i guaranteed my friends we dont value lbs. We wont take one in the first 3 rounds per what you have said for months. Just needed to get that out. Now go lions great draft!

  5. I love listening to you guys. You break down everything VERY well. The Linebacker talk at the end of the show was great as well!!

  6. I truly believe Laporta is going to become a better tight end than hockenson. Now we don’t have to pay 15-18 mil for hock. He’s got some kittle in him with the yak. He can win a one on one rep and get separation. Hock didn’t have a winners mentality in my opinion. We traded hock for a second and a third and got laporta for a second which we got from the trade back from 6-12. Id say that’s pretty good. Laporta, branch, Cambell and Gibbs were the players I wanted in their respected positions. Loved this draft. I love Hooker, I believe he is more talented than Goff, he is more athletic, he’s mature he is super accurate with the Deep ball and I believe he can win the job from Goff in the future. 6100 yards 58td-5int in the last two years!!! He is a legit talent. I’m excited.

  7. I watched 3 alabama games this yesr didnt notice will anderson but brian branch jumped off the screen each game. He became my draft crush wanted him at 18.

My headscratcher pick was Broderick. 1 for the 3 round reach but hes super raw. I felt like there was more complete plugs that played at a higher level of competition like a keondre coburn

  8. Chris I liked your thoughts on the difference between GM’s and the YouTube dudes talking sports and don’t forget the fans that eat all of these topics up. The GM’s know what their doing….right?…… it did feel weird and opposite of what they have been doing their first 2 years. I felt the rug jerk underneath me when that happened. That was our security blanket in case we didn’t want to risk getting Tyree Wilson or Jalen Carter. With that gone if you want to fill the teams holes then trade back and draft like they did and your team is a team that can function on all cylinders. Instead of having the #1 offensive & defensive lines. I trust Brad because whenever MATT MILLEN’s drafts concluded he got the predictable players and always matched up to the mock drafts and he received high praises!!!

  9. Everyone is crying, how many times have teams taken the players Lions wanted Patriots got Mayo, Seattle got for a defensive lineman, many more. Stop playing around Gibbs a Game Changer! Maybe Captain Jack too, I like the TE…If we use him.

  10. The reason so many people criticize the Lions first two picks is because of jealousy and the fact other teams could not get them if Gibbs and Campbell were drafted by the Cowboys everybody would be celebrating This is Detroit time to success we got exactly what we need and the league is very worried about our speed and height. A tall linebacker can see over the tall offensive linemen and better read which hole the running back is going to. last year our linebacker were too short to read the gaps

  11. Being a general Manager is a hard job trading up and down in the draft and calculating positional value understanding the limitation of a 53 man roster and only able to dress 46 players during the games and the 16 man practice squad dealing with injuries and trades. manager of the head coach and if you lose too much you are GONE

  12. St brown was never a 2nd round prospect, dude was in a "deep" WR draft and he was a guy that I drafted a lot in the 3rd cus he was a late 3rd round grade on every mock site

  13. Both you guys do a great job. Jeff you have become one of my favorite Lions writers/followers EVER and that's going back 40 years of me following the lions extremely close. You have become a must listen too imo as you see things at a deeper level than anyone following the lions today imo. Keep up the great work guys!

  14. I’m still proud of my “1/2 ton of man meat” joke, probably the best joke I’ve had all week. Granted, I’m a dad, so all of my jokes are good, but that one was better

  15. So pumped!!! I always jokingly say “this is the year” every year for Lions! But now I can say it for real!!!! Lions are Bonafide SB contenders!!!! Let’s Go Lions 🦁

  16. Absurd, The two lowest possible values of WAR per position are off-ball LB (Non Rush / poor coverage) and RB. Meaning if we just drafted Adrian Peterson and Mike Singletary we still lose the Draft because we failed to take a chance to get Deion and Bosa. Highest Value Players QBx5, CB, WR, Pass Rush. Even at the highest value those RB, G, ILB players hurt you because they have so little additive value. Even more damaging is that when you have to pay them then you degrade the rest of your team… particularly at the premium war positions. Jack could recover some or all of the value if he covers TE like a boss, but that's not ILB.

  17. What do you do when you have too many good players at one position? You make trades and that's what good teams do, and that's what im looking for from Detroit Lions.

  18. Head scratcher why they drafted Richardson in the 1st rd. So yea, you guys are right about that there is no way to install Richardson into the Lions offense. But it's a moot point because the Lions stayed away from moving up to get Levis or Richardson., They knew that Richardson had only completed 53% and had a below 80 percentile classification on the S2 test. Below 80 is a red-flag
