Another winner Michael. That's an eye catching tie. Glad to hear he brushed out the folded wing, I've read in the past a salmon tier did the same with his multi fiber (married) wings. For me folded wings were easier and more economical :o) You mentioned a second fly by Falkus but I didn't understand the name, what was it? Thanks buddy.Have a great weekend. Nice one Michael! I really need to tie up some colorful flies to brighten up my deary earth- tone boxes 🙂 The old books are really treasures of information eh? Most of my library (Bates, Bergman, Flick, LaFontaine, Schwiebert and others) are from that time period. Recent additions, Popovics "Fleye Design" is an excellent book for anyone who ties bucktails and "Barr Flies" is good to have as well. I still want to add your book on Boobie flies. …Had to smile at the mylar tinsel, I like it and use it but most of my streamers are still tied with metal tinsel. Yeah, I'm dating myself LOL! Cheers!

Just realised that I've been tying this fly for over 50 years. I have the slim first edition of Falkus's book 'Sea Trout Fishing' on my shelf and it remains an inspiration to me. Falkus was a bit of a grumpy old bugger and lost several friends through drunken truculence. He provided the English commentary voiceover for many/most of 'The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau' documentaries.
I am hoping you and your wife are fishing and are ok. Haven't seen a video in awhile. Miss your tying sessions.

Hi Michael , I also have Falkus's book, and a postcard from him in reply to a letter I'd sent him. I thought that I was unique in tying a medicine with the body stuck to varnish. I've caught very many sea trout on it. Great video.
