The Expos had a really anemic offense at this time. There were several Expos teams considerably better than this one that never made it to the playoffs. The 1979 team to name only one.
Love those Expos uniforms, nice to hear Dave Van Horne. Brings back memories…
Súper Fernando…
This would be the Expos only run in the entire game.
Fernando was a beast in his rookie season one of the funnest for the fans I can remember FERNANDOMANIA
Russell would have hit 8th for me , if he played at all.
damn 🙂
The Monday home run was one of the great moments in LA Dodger history. In my opinion, only second behind the Gibson home run in 1987.
The Expos/Nationals finally found redemption in 2019.
I wish I could gave seen this game.I was in basic training at the time and my mind was on other things.Four years in the Army.
Halte la halte la halte la ! les expos sont la !
I've been collecting baseball ticket stubs for some years , The 1981 NLCS game 5 ticket stub is one of the rarest ticket stubs to obtain , I would certainly loved one for my collection👍
Viva México Cabrones !!!!!!!

I was there that day as an Expo fan. My heart sank when Rick Monday hit the homer. Dodgers were one EXCELLENT team that year!
Fernando Valenzuela Is a boss, walks like a boss AND has the Attitude of a boss.He went to the mound fearless AND got the job done walking out like a true boss🇲🇽🥊
What a treat. Thanks for posting. Cheers from Los Angeles ⚾️💙
Como sufría yo cuando le pegaban de hit o carrera. Es que era mi ídolo beisbolero.
They said Fernando was 21 but he was probably 35!
Only NLCS appearance for the Montreal Expos. Not that they didn't have some great teams. Their outfielders were very fast those being Andre Dawson, Warren Cromartie, Ellis Valentine, and the speedy Tim Raines. In 1994 Montreal was cruising in the newly realigned A.L. East with a 6 game lead over mighty Atlanta on Aug. 10 when the strike ended the season. I wonder if the Expos had won the World Series that year, if the strike had never happened, would the Expos still be in Montreal?
