Flightline….is the best horse since Secretariat and he's on par with Secretariat. Every "expert", every former jockey, trainer, former trainer in awe of Flightline in his 5 races leading up to the BCC, then, doing it again but vs the BEST OF THE BEST. His margins, his times, his competition, and HOW he did won– no whip, in hand, pulled back etc. He wasn't only eased in final 50 meters here, he was reigned in. Track record for sure woulda been demolished and he coulda won by 25 lengths had be been pushed by Prat the entire stretch. And we talk about how "short" his career was. Let's be real. Its how short ANY good horses career will be anymore. Horses are no longer bred to be raced. They are raced to be bred. What's next? A horse is born, and then "retired" before they race just to be safe? It's a sad time for the sport, and its only going to get worse. Horses deemed "great" are looking at about 3 races MAXIMUM after the moment that they are deemed great.
