  1. When I was in kindergarten, I remember I played soccer and I played the goalkeeper mainly because I was the best goalkeeper on my team. I now don’t play soccer but I would go on to play defense for a few more years. The reason I quit goalkeeping for defense? When I made one mistake or let one ball in, every kid on my team would come at me and basically just make me feel terrible. I think me quitting brought the issue to light, because for the few more years I was on the team, they seemed to stop attacking the new goalkeeper, but I don’t know where I would be now in terms of soccer as a goalkeeper.

Sorry to the British people that read this bc I said soccer

  2. and the goal keeper is that position that everyone secretly looks down on because it's so easy. those guys are beast meant to stop incoming bullets with a pair of hand pads.

  3. Goalkeeping must be the most stress full position in any sport, a small misstep, a small mistake. It can mean everything in a match.

  4. Goalkeepers in my opinion are in more pressure than strikers. The fate of the game is in their hands, literally. The strikers could get 6 goals but if the goalkeeper is absolute garbage, then it won't matter, the goalkeeper can give up more goals

  5. Sometimes I feel like people dont understand what reflexes and precision goalkeepers need to make those incredible saves
