Let me very honest. Varane has, for years now, been an overrated defender. He's at an OK level to start for a top flight team, but there are several better defenders out there. That being said, it is unimaginable to me that he would fall behind all of the other center backs. Yes, he's not good at setting up plays from the back, but honestly no Man U. CB is, not even Martinez. Perhaps Luke Shaw, but he falls short in other areas as a CB. This "fall from grace" is a result of Ten Haag being greatly overrated as a coach, and being completely clueless about how to use this roster

Ten Hag has proven he's out of his depth with a team like United. Makes the only striker that scored often leave. Pushes to overpay for a winger he was "comfortbale" with that hasn't lived up to the price. Gets rid of another winger with Pace, leaving an unexperienced kid to carry a lot of weight.
