Do umpires get tested as to whether they are left or right eye dominate? Looks like another call where the umpire sets up inside and the strike in question is outside. I understand it's a safety issue with foul balls, but it seems that if the ump set up a bit more centered it would help.
I'll watch a game and I'll see the ump having a good day make call after call right with fractions of an inch to spare, and frankly I'm amazed. But I think if we give each team three pitch challenges a game per team it'll help resolve these arguments and actually speed up the game.
idk what the "expected" reaction is to computers calling balls & strikes taking the human elements from baseball but what if fans EXPECTING hitters to swing bats and hit balls started accosting players for not fulfilling their purpose? FUCKING PLAY BALL!
Serious question: I’ve never umpired before. Does it legit screw up your frame of reference when a pitcher is missing that badly? So, when that last pitch comes, it gives the appearance of the strike? (I understand there’s a huge plate there to help with that 😂)
Having to put up with the "premium" Marquee network commentary is brutal. I can always count on them to tell me about everything except what's actually happening in the game, which is really just filler sandwiched between commercial breaks. So I use the radio feed over the Internet and sync with the TV.
Their has been a lot of bad calls as of late to meany in fact to make me think the umps making these bad calls do not have a steak in these games like they are betting on these games and doing their best to make sure the team they are betting against lose. This was a bad call.
The ump missed the call. Plain and simple. After watching Mike Napoli from his Red Sox days, the ump never should have gotten in his face. Napoli is a big boy! Should have played football. Maybe some umps love the confrontation. Some umps just walk away and ignore the player.
Ridiculous reaction. That guy had hood pitches to hit and fouled them off. Love how announcers say “it’s clearly a ball” but can’t truly judge it without that box. Idiots. Not sure why these clowns are allowed to get that close to another man’s face. My reaction would me to step back and put my hands up and give one warning before a bladed hand to the throat.

Honestly it’s close, maybe the pitch broke in a little late, I’d hardly get up in arms about a call like that

The old commercials are a really nice touch lol
As bad as the Cubs are, they shouldn't be arguing balls and strikes.
Compared to the OTHER balls it was a strike. Ooof, CCS has the best passive aggressive commentary in the business. 😀

🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Cubs ejections are hilarious and my favorite.
About time umpires start yelling back…the finger pointing in the face of umpires is getting out of hand…
Thanks for covering every single ejection, even if it was barely covered. CCS > Johnboy

With two strikes the batter must protect the plate. Getting rung up on a two strike count is pretty foolish.
Guidelines? Hahahahahaha
It may seem like MLB doesn’t wanna show the drama or the ejections

Is Lenscrafters sponsoring MLB umpires?
Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but Mike brought his fiery attitude with him to the coaching staff.
Whats wrong with Pillow Pets?
His pitches were so far outside that one seemed like a strike
Enough of the theatrics of arguing. Just plunk the home plate ump next inning and all will be solved.
Hopefully there's enough coverage for Jomboy to tell us what kind words were exchanged
I wonder if MLB wants to eliminate the between inning theatrics
Suspicious that Jomboy reading the lips of the umpires and exposing some of the stuff they say has MLB trying to hide some of these interactions.
Jesusssss, those pitches have a ton of movement on them.
Wouldn’t it be great if umpires could do their jobs correctly? Wow wouldn’t that be a change
I am not trolling and i am not being ugly i hope everyone is in a safe space but what's up with the voice?
Girl or confused boy someone let me know
As usual, the ump made a horrible call. What else is new?
Another horrible call from Manny Gonzalez who thinks the fans are there to see him. No, they're not.
pillow pets gave me nostalgia
Ball's a mile out and never close to being in the zone. Can't be grabbing pitches at 0-0 in the 7th

MLB umpires are garbage. Bring on the robo umps.
