If he stays healthy he could easily become one of the all time great defensive players. Night in night out makes winning plays, hustles, puts his body on the line, doesnt care for reputation or getting crossed or dunked on. Thats the kind of guy any coach would love to have, his impact is immeasurable.
Marcus Smart is the guard verison of Draymond Green, minus the nut kicking and excessive technical fouls.
He is the heart and soul. Horford is our engine, Kyrie is our go to scorer.
Those 3 pieces keep me confident enough to know that we are in good hands. Smart has not only proved how valuable he is, but has become a weapon from deep. I always told people that his contract was never overpaid; if anything, he was underpaid.
Out of everyone in his draft, he ranks in the top 3rd in W/S, DRPM, and has shown time and time again that he could miss 10 shots in a row. (Every fans nightmare.) Then seal the deal with a game winning charge.
I'll never forget that Houston game. Somewhere Harden is pissed, because he hasn't received any money for the real estate that Smart owns in his head.
Its about time for Smart to be included there.
