Watch Jesse Marsch's full seminar here: https://bit.ly/3IUladD
Leeds was a fun team to watch because they played attacking football, maybe to their detriment. It’ll be interesting to see if a high press will replace that in goal production with defense behind it.
This guy is so passionate, there is no way ussf will hire this guy. They want a puppet who they can control, a puppet who can’t recognize a in game low block
Why isn't he the national team coach
I think he will fit in nicely with the analytics the team uses for player management and development
Best of luck to him. As you said I hope he has learned from his experiences at Leipzig and can be less rigid with his system to maximize his roster at Leeds. He is a good coach with a lot of passion for the game. Fingers crossed it translates.
It will be interesting to see Leeds play this style. I loved Bielsa’s style of play, but defensively man they were hard to watch sometimes. If they play an empty bucket of sorts, I think they have technical enough players to be able to pull off counter-attacks well, but I’m not sure how they will look all pressing together. I’m excited to watch it – I hope JM will end up having great success.
NIce work, Jake!
He's certainly well trained at coming into a club after a club legend
Can I ask for the original clip for like the New York Red Bull fan town hall, I am quite curious with that
Good job, Jake. I thought I was watching a well made documentary.
So he's like Bielsa. Sticks to his style
He was trained to coach a certain way in the Red Bull system. Then he was given the managerial role of a successful Red Bull team with parts that fit the phi!osophy and he succeeded. Then he was given the managerial role of a Red Bull club with a bunch of ill-fitting pats and he said "Yes, I will take the job… WTF is this crap?"
It would be like a motorcycle builder being given a bunch of car, bicycle, and one or two motorcycle parts and being asked to build a motorcycle like his last one.
Now Jesse is going to a team with a lot of speedy motorcycle parts and he just needs to figure out how to make the motorcycle more manageable. He needs to tweak the steering, brakes, and lights, but he has the guts of the motorcycle to fit his style of build.
It should be a smooth transition considering that these players are used to running their asses off. And if they go down, so what? That's on Bielsa. Then next year Jesse can bring them back up. All kinds of a winning situation.
Great video Jake!
Great work as usual gonna be interesting to see if Leeds avoids the drop. Many Americans will be paying close attention I’m sure. If he succeeds at Leeds he will probably be a shoe in for the national team job.
rb Leipzig was not his fault when he came in the team was unorganized and sold all there best payers and left him without a chance
Jesse Marsch lost more games than he won in the Bundesliga.
As a video producer, your stuff has come a long way, Jake. Excellent video! So stoked for the future of this channel. Bummed Marsch won’t take the US to glory in 2026 (at least in this moment), but we move. Cheers brother!
Such a fuckin rad hype video for a coach. This is my third time watching this.
The first thing that struck me , he says “ football “ .. most Leeds supporters didn’t know who Bielsa was before he was appointed… Marsch has 12 games to give us what he has… I don’t believe Bielsa would have kept us up..same eleven..same subs..you could set your watch to it..
Marsching On Together 💙💛😝
I hope he has learned a backup tactic and brings a good defensive coaching team too.
I think his success will come down to the TYPE of players at the club. I knew it was going to be interesting and difficult at Leipzig because they sold their 2 best CBs and do not have the counter press style of players at the club with the exception of Adams, Simakan, Haidara, and maybe Nkunku. I mean look at players like Andre Silva, Emil Forsberg, Dani Olmo, Angelino, Laimer and they are more comfortable in possession and going at their speed. I know he has a few speedsters on the team in Jack Harrison and James are perfect but I don't know much about the rest other than the exciting young French Keeper, Phillips, and Raphina. I missed out watching Chelsea vs. Leeds in December. I am definitely rooting for him. I do think it would be pretty sweet if he can keep them up and maybe get Leeds to buy Adams for RB Leipzig. Seeing Phillips and Adams as the 2 in front of the back line would be a very agile and athletic pairing. Then they can get Brenden Aaronson and sign Miles Robinson and Chris Richards…. hahaha Hey a guy can dream right?
GREAT episode! I wish Marsch all the best.
I am a hardcore Leeds fan and what I noticed is that, this new coach 😂 manager mate, said if we lose, if we win 😂 if. He is very uncertain in a psychological way, if 😂 he would have said we will succeed, win etc then I would be more confident in this guy, for now no way 😂 what a joke
As a brentford fan currently in a relegation battle with leeds, I'm glad that we're now safe.
3rd American manager in the premier league.
Fantastic Manager and Leeds looked much better on Saturday vs Leicester. Just subbed to you! Good luck on your goals for 2022!
I'm interested to see how this goes. To me Leeds is one of those super historic clubs who almost deserve their place in the Premier League on history alone. It's a tragedy when they're not there. Everton is another such club. And Marsch seems like he has a good head on his shoulders, and seeing as Leeds won't be trying to stick to Bielsa's system rigidly, unlike Leipzig, I think we should see what he's really made of. Hopefully he gets also Bamford and Philips back asap.
