From all your description of him, he sounds like a like-for-like replacement for Antonio Rudiger. Hopefully, he will be better if we eventually get him. Colwell is a serious talent and should be integrated into Chelsea's first team.
There are “small” differencies in their careers. Gvardiol is playing in Bundesliga, he was playing CL, Europa league and is a starter in Croatia national team A since his age of 19. Colwill is a Championship player, so their careers can’t be compared regarding the experience. Gvardiol was playing every position in junior ages, ecxept goalkeeper. That’s what makes him exceptional. For us, who watch him for years, he is a great CB, who can play well LB. Dribbling like a winger, creative like a midfielder, scoring like a striker. Don’t know abt Colwill character, but Gvardiol is sooo mature. As a person and as a player. Winner mentality, humble, very calm, but explosive on the pitch. Real monster. His abilities to play under pressure are impressive. Unbeleiveble football inteligence. There are few little things in diffence he needs to prove. But nothing serious. Atm he is the best young CB in Europe, in a 2-3 yrs he will be the best CB in the world if he remain healthy. Mark my words.
P.S. He will never change the club if he doesn’t get guarantee that he will be a starter. If Chelsea not now, it will be Real Madrid or Liverpool in a year or two.
I’m all for academy players but I think if we can get Gvardiol we can use them both successfully, Silva isn’t young and Gvardiol could play as CB and Levi could play LCB we need one more fast paced physically strong RCB so we can use James as RWB instead of RCB. To be honest Chalobah can’t play as RCB against strong fast paced wingers he keeps giving away too many unnecessary fouls and Azpi doesn’t have the pace of James
For me Gvardiol is an instant and future replacement on the left side of the defense whilst colwill is more suited to play the middle center back role, get Colwill in the squad now because he would play and he will become Silva’s replacement

Gvardiol v Colwil get both in IF Tuchel is convinced. Kounde, Chalobah and Ampadu. Silva makes 6. However only if Colwil is retained.

From the clips he can be better than Rudiger his speed, passing, penetration,allround defensive play
If not Gvardiol, than Koulibaly is a good cover for the ageing Silva
If we let Colwill go we gonna regret
