  1. Sorry but not giving any Facts as to why the East is better than the West invalidates your opinions. West has less teams (beat against each other more), Bottom 5 in both needs to be looked at as west bottom 5 score more in less games and look better than the bottom 5 in the east.

  2. Was wondering why Total Soccer Show stopped publishing a new episode every week in the last year. Nothing was really said, it just stopped being put out despite the last episodes before that seemingly battling through the cancer. Keep fighting Daryl.

  3. Not having supporters shield because the season is unbalanced is a dumb excuse. MLS seasons are inherently unbalanced. Every team does not play each twice. Especially now as MLS continues to expand. That's why we have MLS Cup. Supporters Shield is nice but it's never going to be the trophy to win.

  4. Yes it's fun to see Aaronson move to better league. Maybe he can win there because MLS makes sure philly never will. If your not a new team Atl,portland, etc or LA,NY then your just filler for the rest of the league. Union get treated like the uncle of the uncles uncle no one has ever heard of. Just facts

  5. Hope you liked my proposals for the Continental Awards 😄
Sorry for coming up with silly ideas like those, I've been such an idiot… 😂 But you know, I had so much fun creating those awards that I couldn't but write you!

PS: somebody please tell David Gass that I still love him even though he didn't exactly nail the pronunciation of my name! 😂

  6. If the winner of the league being awarded is dependent on fans being in the building, then we really need to rethink how we award the league winner. MLS clubs and players have tried so hard to establish the value of the winner of the regular season, establish some respect for it and this is a massive step backwards. The schedule hasn't been balanced since 2011, that excuse is nonsense. The NHL and NBA still went ahead with their same awards, if MLS wants to be taken seriously it has to step in and either pressure a reversal on this decision, or award the league winner with some other trophy, and make sure they're recorded as such.

As a Canadian club, the only real benefit you have to win the shield is to lift the trophy, and establish that in your clubs legacy. Canadian clubs get screwed out of a Champions League spot if they win the shield, or win MLS Cup. So when you say there's no shield winner this year, what incentive does Toronto FC have to actually play out their remaining games? They don't have home fixtures, so that doesn't matter in the playoffs and seeding in this league has never really meant much with how close teams are in terms of talent. This is an embarrassment. Reverse this decision, and reform the rewarding of CCL spots. Its a joke.

  7. There's no biases against American players in Europe. There's biases against Canadian players in MLS. They don't even get acknowledged for their existence in the MLS.

  8. Jesse Marsch: They is a German term called 'vill', meaning drive.
Wait, isn't that just "will", meaning drive, in a German accent 😉

To maximize transfer profits for the leagues top talents the league needs to value player/club fit above all else. A good fit is the best way have player success. That is the league looking out for the player but it also means the league has a better track record for successes which raises future transfer values and boosts sell on fees as well as raise the league profile. I don't think the league can demand huge transfer fees yet. Trust their product and hold out for a bigger sell on percentage. That said, second tier MLS talents or players already in their prime need to have a focus on the initial transfer fee.

I have been saying for years that it harder to break through as an attacking domestic player in MLS than it is to go abroad to a superior league and get minutes. Counter-intuitive but it was true imo. I'm so, so happy that it is no longer the case. Young, technical, and attack-minded players are popping up all over the league. It is awesome.

I'm confused why people would even consider having a SS this year. Sure, the schedule is unbalanced every year. But post MiB MLS is functioning as multiple mini leagues. No team even plays a quarter of the leagues teams. TFC, Seattle, Orlando, etc don't share a single opponent so they can't be grouped together. Maybe have a teams SG make an unofficial trophy for each mini league winner. The SS matters but it doesn't have to given out when it doesn't apply.
