      the goals prevented stat is flawed look at Ederson at 21st does that really mean he’s a worse goalkeeper than ward or is it that the way opponents play against him means that they counter and take there chances because they aren’t as common to come by when playing man city

      So why didn't Manchester United see this keeper? Instead of £45 million on Onana who can pass like Scholes but can't save a shot if his life deoends on it.

      I say Ramsdale is better and people are staring themselves blind on stats. Raya did that at another club, with another play style and with other circumstances. Higher volume of shots stopped doesn't mean the quality of those chances were great. While simply watching Ramsdale, he's stopped some high quality shots.

      I also don't think Raya's feet are that much better than Ramsdale. Heck, I'd say Ramsdale has better distribution. So far I've seen Raya's Arsenal matches and I paid close attention to his distribution. It was genuinely poor. Ramsdale distributes the ball better.

      People really stare themselves blind on stats that aren't always reliable.

      Example: Goalkeeper 1 plays at a team thats very defensive and the opponents need to use more long distance shots because of it being hard to get through their defence. The goalkeeper has 100 shots fired at him and he stops 60! OMG great keeper!

      Meanwhile another goalkeeper plays with a team that is very attacking and most of the shots he gets to stop aren't long distance. Out of a volume of merely 50 its mostly players going 1 on 1 on the goalkeeper with just a handful of long distance shots. The keeper ''merely'' stops 30. Keeps very poor? Because the other keeper stopped 60? See, this is where looking at stats is flawed.

      Out of the 232 saves Raya made. How many of them were high quality saves? How many of them were relatively easy to stop? While Ramsdale maybe dealt with more 1 on 1s? While Raya dealt with more long distance shots that weren't shot as brilliantly because they mostly came from teams like Everton? While Ramsdale made his important saves against teams like City?

      I don’t know how that paints the picture? There is a YouTube video that has every shot Raya faced last season and the number of saves he made from shots outside the box were exceptionally high. Which makes sense because Brentford defends deep. But xG isn’t the same as PSxG. Isn’t that the number that makes the most sense. I mean, CR7 hitting a long shot compared to Harry McGuire are obviously different statistics.
