  1. Hitting the target at 500 yards is easy IF the wind isn't howling at a right angle. Need a kestrel to get the wind velocity and that's the skinny.

  2. That is some great shooting
I've shot out to 345, 450 and 550 with 1st shot hits…then to 700 yards this weekend for the first time …took me 5 trys to hit at 700 yards

  3. This is cool and makes me want to go "send it", diggin those rangefinder binos, 12 hunnion? guess I'll have to walk it off

  4. A very good video, very clear basic information with a entry level rifle, shooting at a what could be called medium long range distance.

I'm trying to achieve the same goals with a Ruger American ranch 5.56 w,/ Bipod, a modest 4×12 scope with a plane crosshair reticle, and GP ammo. I just want a knock around basic gun that when that moment comes I know I can put a shot out there @ possibly 600 yd. So far, I'm shooting solid at 200 yards off the bench. Upgrading to a new trigger, going to shoot from the prone and see if it helps.

  5. Looks a whole lot like the Arizona desert. This fall we will be hosting the Cochise county 1000 yard shooting competition. Ifn ya'll are somewhat nearbye I would really like to hear your thoughts.

  6. Youtube is killing us also.. but worse than that is Instagram and Facebook.. They restricted our account for selling magazine mounts. We removed the listings they flagged and they popped up 3 more restrictions.. removed those, and 3 more. It's to the point where we have to delete our account and start over!!!

  7. Still a great pump gun even though it is mostly plastic, https://www.youtube.com/post/Ugkxh4su9YgU1tWmjikirWcKJbjsFLEU62Bc but with care it will last a long time. It would be neat if Crosman would make a commemorative version of this with real wood stock, but of course it would weigh more and cost more, but hey, it would be cool. The included scope is more of a toy, but it does work for backyard plinking. I prefer to use pellets for greater accuracy, but BBs are just as good for plinking. This is not a Red Ryder folks; fully pumped it is 3 times the power of a Red Ryder and can be dangerous if not handled properly. Be safe out there.

  8. If you are just starting out you can save on the range finder and chronograph. Put the money toward a good First focal plane scope (dont need anything fancy) and a standard rifle. Bore sight the weapon, dial it in and with some basic math learn to find range based on the diamiter of the target and you're all set.

  9. I shoot F-Class, and it always amazes me how easy it is to hit the bullseye at 800 metres…for me 900 is where everything goes horribly wrong. I agree though, a decent rifle, properly set up, with a shooter properly trained, can hit a man sized target at 1,000 yards without too much difficulty.

  10. Stop telling beginners 500 rounds is easy. Deers jump and move within the time it takes to hit them. Too many people getting bad hits these days. STOP.

  11. "Cheapest" Bergara B-14 I found was $730. I would bet that is more than the majority of hunters in the US will ever spend on a rifle. Yes that's at the low end of what CAN be spent on a rifle, that doesn't mean it's cheap. Please don't let yourself be carried away by the industry pushing for the constantly moving goalposts. You can still get a very good performing rifle for under $500.

  12. All that minutia about precision shooting, low and level, chronographs, ballistic apps and the guy wears absolutely no eye protection and has the scope cap covering the objective lens? C'mon bro', some of us actually pay attention.

  13. I think most peoples problem is that 3-9 has been sold as the standard for who knows how long and even at 100 9 power is under performing, now is that cause i shoot alot of prs and we run 18 power alot of the time or more, possible, but is still think the 4-12 or 4-16 should be the real standard for scopes, this isnt grandpa's day where all you could get was a 3-9. Also the ability for a person to level their gun and scope is alot harder than people give it credit, and its pretty hard for most people to do.

  14. I'm going to get a new deer rifle and I want something on the shorter side in either 308 or 270. I have shots at deer in our hay meadow anywhere from 70 yards to probably farther than I should shoot at 400 yards. Do any guns come to mind within the $950 dollar range? What's the shortest barrel you would recommend if there is indeed a 400 yd shot I take?

  15. after more experience with this scope, would it have possibly climbed up further on your recommendations for a 0-600 yard hunting scope? i like that they are an American company but i don't know anyone with real life experience!

  16. Bro why is 90% of the hunting/rifle community so angry when People make a mistake when new to longer range shooting or don’t drop 3 grand on a rifle and another 5 on a scope 💀💀💀

  17. 1000 yds for under a 1000 bucks is doable all day long. get a howa 1500 in 308, and a primary arms scope and some match ammo. easy peasy gookanese!!

  18. The scope height is dictated by the size of your effin head…. low is fine but if you can't get behind the scope with your damn head level it's useless… done with your video's bud. Lol.
