Great commentary and insight. I saw that no one in the mainstream media mentioned Dest getting tripped up twice by the same guy. Good catch… but overall good performance in the context of a team w one week of prep.
Cordoso doesn't get enough love. He was really good. Really confident on the ball and slick passing. Reminiscent of Busquets out there.
I’d honestly be frustrated at such a young age like Gio Reyna if someone missed the penalty when I wanted to take it, maybe it’s just me though. I do understand though the other team will take advantage of it
A few thoughts. For me, Dest/Cannon is better than Robinson/Dest. Second, Miazga is not the answer. I commented on your last video that Miazga got called for 2 shirt tugging fouls(1 was a yellow after getting beat) and had a very mediocre game against Wales. Against Panama he was worse. There's a reason he's transferred clubs constantly ever since arriving in Europe. He's a competent back up, but not a starter. Lastly, why did Berhalter start Ream? He'll be 35 at the next cup, and no way does he make the team. This would've been a great game to start Richards.

Interested to hear who you think, if all healthy, makes way on a current 20-man roster qualifier (omitting goalies). Knowing Gregg –though not necessarily agreeing with his selection–I think he brings-in Pulisic, Sargent, Morris, Aaronson, Long, Roldan, and Zardes. Assuming Musah commits, I would think he leaves home Ream or Richards, Konrad, Otasowie, Johnny, Llanez, Weah, and Ledezma, because they are all Olympic eligible. That leaves him with 4 strikers, though.
"This was Panama's B Team" Yeah but this also wasn't our stongest squad either. Missing Pulisic, Jozy/Sargeant, Brooks, a legit RW, a CM who isn't fully committed to our National Team and a CB position that's still up for grabs. So keep that in mind.
Love our team, my biggest concern is musah, is he staying at the usmnt?, I really hope so.
I totally agree that Brooks and Richards are the way to go at center back.
It was great to see the love fest between Musah and some of the players on Twitter after the game but was disappointed in Soto’s body language. He looked kinda fed up 😬 I really hope I’m wrong.
I’ve been saying this. Sebastian Soto is our striker for many years to come. but with that said I thought Giachinni played very well as well
i think we looked fine imo it was our future vs panamas future team we made mistakes and had some shaky moments but thats due how young our team is and the inexperience. our fanbase is gonna have to be patient even though we aren’t good at that sometimes i think we’ll do fine in wcq but gregg is gonna have to learn how to mold all these young guys as a team and lead them

Really impressed by: 1) the fire that the young guys have and their business-like attitude the whole game. Very little celebration after the goals. It's like they are already focused on WC qualifying, love it. 2) actually totally fine with the fouls and yellow cards, specially from McKennie. Without a Jermaine Jones on the team, we need an enforcer, especially in CONCACAF. Exciting camp, looking forward to having Pulisic back. Great vid!!

Would of loved to have Josh Sargent available to pressure the Panama defense more and create more errors further up the field like he does for Werder. The other forwards just played off and didn't add any pressure.

Very detailed analysis. I agree with your take on Reyna. I saw that when he played with the U17 and tried to take over the game and was double team and disposed and you can see his frustration. I'm not sold with Ledezma, at 5'6 and 135 lbs. is a bit too light. He did great because he was given the space and time. He is easily disposed of the ball by a more physical player if he has to shield the ball. Too bad we have to wait 4 more months to see the euro kids again.

Wow. I'm watching this after the USAs Nation's league win against Mexico and your analysis on Miazga was spot on. One major mistake a game. He literally passed it to Mexico within the first 10 min and they scored :/
