      My uncle Lou lived in Connie Mack stadium in the 40's 50's and 60's. I asked him one time who was the biggest Phillies killer. Without even thinking he said Hank Aaron.

      50 years today
      I will be at the Braves game tonight and really look forward to not only the cool bobblehead but the pregame ceremony. This was not just a huge moment for the Braves, Atlanta, and Georgia, but for the country and history.
      MY home run king 🫡

      Never listen to barry davis AKA 'barrackk hussein obama' that the U.S. is a racist Country. I saw this on TV live when I was 10 years old. I never forgot Vin Scully saying those words and thinking about them as a 10 year old. And watching that stadium full of people, most of them white, go crazy for Hank Aaron. IMO when people see racism everywhere they look, it's because that racism is on the IN-side of their eyeballs. Like sweet barry Davis.

      Mr .Aaron was such a classy man and player His courage and grace under immense pressure all the while, makes this record unassailable in my eyes , No asterisk or cloud of PED here, just God-given talent and hard work

      I was a teenager at the time, but lost my TV privileges at home that week because I smarted off to my parents (I deserved it, BTW). But I knew there was a chance to see history so I snuck out of the house and rode my bike down to the caddy shack at the local golf course.. watched history on a 12 inch black and white TV there… awesome.

      People in Atlanta remember the call on the Radio by Milo Hamilton more than Vin's call. Frankly I do not know if I have ever heard Vin's call before.

      In all the years this has been shown, no one has mentioned that the pitcher and the batter were wearing the same number "44". Just a wee bit of trivia.

      I remember watching this on TV as a 13 year old baseball junkie. Baseball can be a poetic and romantic sport when played the right way and by class individuals. Such was the case on this special evening. The wonderful call made by the eloquent and incomparable Mr.Scully. The feat by one of the most humble and classy of all superstars of any sport. Mr. Aaron rounded the bases on this historic event the way he did on his previous 714 times. No showboating or immature antics. For 20 years, consistent in his playing and his actions. The following morning I bought each newspaper in the NY market to mark the occasion. Have them till this day, in pristine condition. After seeing this clip again, it's time to pull them out and relive that special moment. Thank you Mr. Aaron, for showing a kid that it can and should be done with class and professionalism.

      I remember this on TV, a 12 year old baseball fan from Milwaukee cheering a true hero that played for the Milwaukee Braves. When the Braves left town I was 4, I don't remember that. But his legacy was cemented here. When the Brewers got him back I got to see him play in person, got to see him hit one of his last homers in person, too. A childhood hero of mine, and STILL the home run king as far as I'm concerned. ⚾️

      I remember hearing Vinny call Aaron's historic home run over my transistor radio while in the backyard after a day's work as a machinist that day. Six months later my second daughter would be born. Those were the salad days.

      Not only is he the LEGITIMATE HR king, but if you look at his numbers, hits, RBIs, BA…they are staggering. He was about 200 or so hits away from 4000. Staggering.
