Sorry to hear about your thumb/hand injury. I laughed at the dual spinning reel set up. I like that you use the same rod and reel for both. When in a boat I carry 2 bait cast and 2 spinning set ups at least. For my spinning equipment I use a 3000 and 2000 reel. I like the 200/2000 series reel the best for true finesse presentations. The balance is hard to beat especially with a 6’ 6” rod. I put the bigger reel on a 7’ rod. Late in the season I bought another small reel that I will use on the 7’ rod going forward. The larger reel seems to impact balance and sensitivity. With finesse the two are critical. I have had a similar knife wound. Every time I am pulling the blade towards my body or limb something tells me “I am not being too smart” If I listen to that inner voice I change my angle and move the blade to cut down towards the table or away from me. A couple of weeks ago I did not listen and nipped off the tip of my thumb. I was lucky it was a slow cutting motion and I caught it before it got too deep. I was cooking if I was using the standard kitchen chop cutting motion serious damage would be the result. It is slowly healing, at least it is closed. Hand injuries take extra time to heal, we are always using them, they are always in water Etc. Good luck with the injury.

For your arig and swimbait rod buy a shimano 300 or 400 tranx, it can hold way more line than a curado

They have long since moved manufacturing overseas and I was concerned that the quality may have dipped. I was pleasantly surprised to see this reel. It maintains the quality and craftsmanship Penn has always been known for.
