  1. I think that last pitch is a great example of one of the problems of ABS: it doesn't treat the strike zone as a 3D prism. We can't see the actual pz value because the CCS tag covers up the graphic, but that pitch reached the catcher below the batter's belt and very likely was below the midpoint at some point while over the plate.

Also, you didn't point it out, and most casual followers don't know: the ejection pitch was on the buffer zone for INSIDE/OUTSIDE. Most casual fans are going to think that's too high, but the Strike Zone top is another ~5 inches higher.

  2. Not only is the NL central playoff race going to go down to the wire, but the NL central ejection leaderboard is incredibly close too!

  3. You can guarantee that if I were an ump, I'd be telling catchers to quit with the BS pulling pitches on every single pitch or I'll just call everything a ball. They'd immediately start crying about why and I'd explain that they must be balls if he's trying to trick me on every pitch. Stop doing it and I'll call it what, it is.

  4. Look, hasn’t this become whiffle ball baseball, where the pitcher throws the ball anywhere and the umpire has to guess where the ball is??? What happened to “CATCHER PRESENTATION”????????

  5. If you ever want to know what it is like to call a 13U or even 14U game, just imagine an entire game of nothing but those eephus pitches. But then add in coaches barking at you because their catcher (who is set up 6 feet behind the plate because his coaches don't know how to coach him) caught it at his chest and I'm not giving it to him. Now add in the parents who bitch and moan because they think everything their guy throws is a strike, and everything the other guy throws is a ball, even though it is the SAME PITCH. And of course nobody is swinging, because the ball is at their chin when it crosses them, and they don't move back in the box, because (again) their coaches have no idea how to actually coach.

If there is a hell, then I would probably prefer it to working those games.

  6. 187 ejections and you had to post the video in the we hours?! After a long rain delay NOT fair. But 250 to 300 ejections still within reach

  7. Brutal strike call (0:52). It was obvious a ball without the strike zone box.

Also, Lindsay being savage (1:43): “Yeah let’s get ejected at midnight and make Lindsay do more work. Thanks a lot, both of you.” Well, I can’t blame her. 😂🤣😂🤣

  8. Love how the umps kind of screw a team like that, make 1 team finish an inning give up runs and then finally call a rain delay to bail out the other team from having to pitch in rain.

  9. What does the open mouth chewing have to do with the content of this channel?
I hate seeing it too, but it's odd to see that in this day of preaching tolerance for everyone (especially on this channel), you call out Alfonso for something so gratuitous.
Sic'ing the channel's followers on someone seems antithetical to the current movements. And as we've seen with Angel, it doesn't take much for people to hate on an umpire forever because of a small sample of issues.
    Not cool.

EDIT: This horrific editing choice (you could have cut those clips entirely) already inspired such lovely comments as "i swear the ump in this game looked like he was chewing on a turd lol which is fitting"
    Great job! (smh)
