Gasperini has always been an innovator, but he hasn't always had the right teams to do it. It is a risky playing method, made up of balance, high and continuous pressing, clustered movements of the players, and also insertions of the defenders. Sometimes he doesn't succeed, but when he succeeds it's spectacular. Maybe it will win a few trophies, but it never bores you.

If you want to play under Gasperini , you must be willing to follow every instruction to the letter . In other words be extremely disciplined. It seems exhausting from players' perspective ,but it has worked wonders . The chemistry and coordination developed by this atalanta side can not be achieved over night and without discipline. This was the reason i believe Papu Gomez fell out with Gasperini . Gomez complained of being micromanaged and not having the freedom to play the way he wanted . However with Gasperini there is no compromise . Atalanta would rather get rid of their star players than forsake their rigorous high intense pressing style which defines them as a team

I've never seen a Klopp team getting dominated on that much scale. The Liverpool midfield got completely neutralized. They can't pass the ball forward to the front 3. Atalanta's triangles are tricky & once they start to attack you feel the pressure even as a spectator. No choice but applaudits 👏👏 for Gasperini. He deserves better.
