In my personal opinion, Henderson is a very good player and fit for our first XI. He has had a few bad games this season, but he has shown enough that he can be a real force in our team once he gets his confidence back. I think he has a lot of technique, he is actually a very skillful player, but he just seems to lack confidence when showing it. In the 13/14 season, there was a period when Gerrard, Sturridge and Coutinho were all out injured for about a month, and then Henderson stepped up, playing back-heel one-twos with Suarez, robona assists, Gerrard-esque Hollywood balls. He showed last season that he can play the number 6 role very well. However, this season, his confidence has been shot for some reason. Who knows if he had a personal issue which has affected him. Let's not write him off for this season, because he has generally been a very good and versatile player for us. YNWA

Much rather us keep Can than going and getting a new transfer.

IMO part of the problem is as soon as this sort of news breaks, Liverpool fans think we're keeping Can for sure. It's just as likely (probably more likely) that he leaves for Juventus. When he does leave, fans will be pissed off thinking he'd stay. This is good news, but it does not mean he is staying.

liverpool should put a release clause of around 100 mil in any new contract for Can at least we will get some money for him as clubs would have to offer that much at least just to trigger the release clause and we could even hold out for a little extra should he then leave rather than him leaving on a free, and any new players we bring in especially any players from south America we should slap a large release clause in the contract as that's the only way we will stop the likes of barcelona taking our players unless we do this then they will just keep coming for them they've had 2 already whos next salah maybe

speaking of Mignolet i read today that Napoli are interested in him and the headline said it would be ironic should migs go to Napoli and replace Reina as it will be one former liverpool keeper replacing another and incidentally migs replaced Reina at liverpool

I feel like our victory the other day masks the fact that we need to replace Coutinho. For all our goals, City were pushed up and back 4 exposed.

Emre has had such an up and down season. Not sure if we should replace him for a better player?

Just curious, for anyone making decisive statements about Oblak, Alisson, etc: on what basis are you making these calls? Catching a handful of their team's games? Catching almost all of their team's games? Reading scouting reports? I ask because I don't have the first clue how to rate Mignolet vs Oblak vs Alisson, and I watch a lot of football…

I do not understand the anti-Hendo narrative. Can is better, but Hendo is a good footballer and a good lad, and has performed to a very high standard for prolonged periods of time, in several positions, works hard, cares passionately, and as long as Klopp sees a future in him, he's got my full support.

If Jurgen believes in Can then I will believe in Can, but all I see is Can giving the ball away. Not in the City game specifically, just generally over the season. JK is very big on player development and maybe this is being worked on. I hope so.
Anyway, having said that….following the 4-3 City win, I believe we have a team of 11 + 7 subs that can actually win the league. Of course we need depth to cover for injuries, to allow rotation etc etc
That is hopefully what FSG will now start funding…..strength in depth….strength in depth

Why get young players in to develop when we don't give them a chance by overpaying for has been flogs from other clubs. We have lost Kent, will lose Woodburn and Grujic is all but gone. Any young player would chose the big clubs like Liverpool last and go to lower clubs to gain opportunity. Stop the ridiculous transfer fee escalation and develop and play the younger players like Woodburn and Grujic.

GK is just a question of confidence. Karius was really good in Bundesliga, but he only play 2 games and sit in the bench again… and dont forget he still young. Sell Mignolet and sign an world class GK, Karius 2nd choice

Resign Can and let Henderson go in the summer, a shame but he's now turning into the midfield version of Sturridge

Achterberg out, Moreno out. Moreno doesn't deserve to play for us again after Sevilla; I still believe he did that shit on purpose. He's done enough to justify a decent exit fee, now he can go sabotage someone else's ambitions. Migs isn't good enough to take us forward anymore, so it's for the best if he does play for another team now which leaves space for a TOP keeper; but lets be clear about one thing, he's better than Karius has been and lets not forget has at times gone on runs where he's saved our bacon with game-saving stops which Karius has never looked like he could do so in the next hundred games.

Italy looks like it could be a good move for Sturridge, where the pace is slower and they could possibly get a good bit out of him if they can get him to adhere to Italian tactical discipline; but I don't see any sense in it being a loan move. Right now we either need Sturridge here behind Firmino, or sold for a new reliable striker.

Our situation with Can is a bit concerning. I feel it's pretty late in the game to be holding much of a stake in him staying at this stage. He's most likely playing well to sell himself and we're only insurance. What's concerning is that while he's been looking very likely to leave this last season, and with judgement day nearing, there's been no noise at all about recruiting a new quality 6. Does that mean Keita is that player? because if not we're in a spot of bother and teams with eligible players will see our desperation coming.  

Also, if I never again see Henderson side-footing (for 'placement') a shot on open goal 60 yards over the bar from 10 yards out 99.9% of the times he finds himself in that situation, I'm not sure anymore if I'll miss it. I backed him for some time, because I do remember when he has been good for us; but the Sevilla game finally stirred doubts about his leadership and subsequent games since he's been out have shown we haven't really missed his legs or his lack of urgency in driving the team and the play forward.

Also is our obvious and somewhat pressing winger/playmaker situation. Plenty of this stuff can wait, but not all of it. If we get injuries to any of our front 3 or when we need to rotate them (which we will), our team is significantly weakened as a result.

I'm undecided on Can… he has great games and then cack ones. The top and bottom of it is, if the club wants to win titles – league and CL – the rest of the squad NEEDS to be the same standard as the 'fab four'… er three. Currently it isn't. VVD is a step in the right direction, but there are three goalkeepers, at least five defenders, and at least three midfielders who need moving on.
Flannagan is gone – he isn't that good anyway, this is a convenient excuse. Grujic is gone – going where he's going in the hope they buy him, he was a committee buy, not a Klopp target.

Can over Henderson any day.

Robertson is a million miles better than Moreno, you surely have to see that. Moreno "looks" decent in attack because of his pace, however there is a lack of end product. Robertson even has an assist this season which Moreno cannot boast himself. The point is that Robertson can defend and Moreno still looks like he has an awful lot to learn. It HAS to be Robertson's position in my opinion. I'm sure the status quo will agree with me here.

Don't want him. He's sub-standard.

Karius has a save ratio of 43% ish. Thats horrific! Maybe he should worry less about his hair and start saving shots haha
