I can see Ben White playing as a defensive midfielder. Especially if William Saliba returns next season or if Thomas Parte can't play. Scratch that, even if Thomas Parte is on the field, White can be better than Xhaka. Parte can then go forward (like box-to-box) more knowing it's Ben (not Xhaka) holding the defense behind him.
Despite this being a Ben White video the moment that got me the most was from Bukayo Saka at 1:48. The fact that in a split second, he thinks of laying that off instead of controlling it. What are they feeding these guys at Hale End?

While I think he’s on the brink of greatness. There are still elements of his game that evidently need tightening up. 1. Concentration levels 2. Ariel ability defensively. If he can address these two we are talking about a top 10 CB in the world.
