We definitely need a more dynamic box-to-box midfielder to teplace O'Riley or Turnbull ss both of these players are far too slow for Angeball. Good news Ange is looking at the midfield if we are going to do anything in Europe.

If the rumours are true about Frimpong and others moving, with the champions league money on top we can afford £6m for the right player. I'm just not sure we can convince him to come to Scotland, where he might not be playing every week. Moving Mccarthy only creates a squad place not a first 11, or even a bench slot. If we keep hold of Hatate, and Abada decides to wait until he's developed into a player that plays more games from the start and has that experience in his locker before moving south (that could all depend on his agent there) then the next player sold could possibly be O Reilly. Matt will probably want to stay around for Champions League football next season, he's young but there is no guarantee he will get that at his next club, or for a few years after. He is a intelligent footballer who seems to relish the opportunities the club provides and will probably want that experience one more time, and also look to add more goals to his game in the SPL next season. If he adds goals, come January or next summer he is a target for a lot of clubs. That might mean Calum may move forward again, but for now where do you convince a man who plays every game for his club there is a role for him in the here and now, when we have Mcgregor, and Iwata who is struggling to get game time.
This is the next text for Ange. We need a higher calibre of player still than the relative bargain markets that we have built the squad on to make a dent in Europe. Ange overhauled the squad in 2 seasons with few players being paid for big money, it was all very 'lucky' shall we say. From here on out its about adding a few key additions to take the team to that next stage, thats going to take money. For the right addition the club might just have the money, and a board that believes enough in the manager that is willing enough to spend it. That's been a long time coming. What we might need now is some extra pixie dust to convince transfer targets that the position is there for then to grab. Midfield as it is now will be the hardest sell. A good solid central defender could probably see a position available next to CCV. OH looks promising but next to Kyogo there is still a partnership up for grabs there, and with Hart's age a goalkeeper might think I have a chance to make that position mine. Improving the midfield without moving some first teamers on is going to be a hard ask.
