Rip and rest in peace to a Hall of Famer
Rest in peace, Franco Harris (1950-2022).
Rest in Peace.. #32 will never die in the hearts of Steelers fans that saw you play in the 70’s, A life, a job a legacy. Well done Franco!! Rest well.
Rest in peace Franco Harris ❤️💯👑
R. I. P. Franco Harris. Forever a Steelers and NFL legend.
rip
Myron Cope coined the phrase: "Franco to the Bank-o" And would shout it out, many times when Franco scored.
It might’ve been before my time but thanks for putting on for my team. Rip to a goat 🙏🏼
May Franco Harris rest in peace. And may all of his loved ones be comforted and healed.
RIP Franco Harris. Steelers Legend. Us Steelers Nation fans will always miss you
What a gut punch. R I P Franco from a Buc fan
💦💦💨💨
I'm not a Steelers fan, nor do I like the Nittany Lions, & oddly enough his High School (Rancocas Valley) routinely pounded mine. Anyway Franco may not have been the fastest back but shifty as heck, powerful as heck, solid to better blocker, smart, good catcher, & great teammate & leader. Deserves his spot in the hall of fame easily.
R.I.P. Franco. We know where you're headed because of a certain catch.
take off advertisements when honoring someones life please and thank you NFL Youtube staff
Thank you for everything #32 you were my late father’s favorite running back and I remember him telling me about him and the immaculate reception and how everyone talked about it in the city of Pittsburgh when it happened. My dad was 20 at the time go figure maybe he can talk with you in heaven now Rest Easy Franco ✊🏿🐐
Every NFL Hall-of-Famers will always be remembered. Never forget the iconic moment of Franco Harris against the Raiders and the one who started the Steelers Super Bowl dynasty.
Rest in Peace Franco Harris (Age: 72).
Rip
Legends are inmortal.
I don't know if I can truly put into words what Franco Harris meant to me, but I'll try. My dad, was born and raised in Pennsylvania coal mining country. He grew up dirt poor, but through hard work and perseverance, he got his college degree and became an Air Force officer. He was a Steelers fan, even when they were one of the worst teams in the NFL. We moved around a lot when I was growing up and I hadn't formed an attachment yet to any particular team. Fast forward to December 23, 1972, I'm 11 years old watching the Steelers/Raiders game on TV with my dad, who wouldn't give up cheering for his team even when it looked like the game was over. Then the Immaculate Reception happens! I swear to God, I don't think I ever saw my father so joyful as he was on that day. We hugged and jumped and danced around the living room. It was one of those amazing father/son bonding moments I'll never forget. That was it. I was hooked and in an instant became a lifetime Steelers fan. In the 1970's the Steelers were the quintessential team of the working class. Rocky Bleier was a Vietnam veteran and Franco Harris was the son of a WW II veteran, which really meant something to our military family. Franco also transcended race. We still have quite a ways to go in this country in terms of accepting people for who they are, but in the early 1970's my impression was that America was combatting worse racism than it does today. Although he was of mixed-race heritage, Franco appealed to, was loved by, and perhaps maybe even identified with, every ethnicity, every color every person. He was a humble gentleman on and off the field. Fifty years after I saw that playoff game with my dad, it still seems like it happened just yesterday, and I'm still a Steelers fan. Always will be.
R.I.P. Franco Harris. Thank you for all the wonderful football memories and great charitable work you did for the Pittsburgh region.
R.I.P.
Run Paisano Run!
Wish I could've seen him play but rest easy Harris 🕊️🖤💛
I loved watching the SB commercial celebrating the 100th anniversary of the NFL & Franco Harris re-enacting the immaculate reception. My favorite part….RIP #32 You will always be a hero/true legend to so many who love & play the game. Blessings & prayers to his loved ones & his family. 😢🙏🏼🙏🏼😢
Love me 70's football and Franco Harris. Classy guy, used his size to his advantage while avoiding getting hurt. I don't ever remember Franco laid out on the field. Clutch player with a knack for finding the end zone. And of course one of the best big money Superbowl running backs of Alltime. Franco Harris will always be Mr Steeler in my mind.
Very sad day, ne fan….the 70s steelers had so many great players
I wasn’t around during Franco’s time in the league, but I know his importance to the history of the sport. Sucks he passed days before being honored on the 50th anniversary of the Immaculate Reception.
RIP Franco Harris. Gone too soon
As a Cincinnati Bengals fan, I absolutely despise everything about the Pittsburgh Steelers and the city of Pittsburgh. They get a little respect from me.
Truly saddened by this.
A true gentleman has left us.
The great Franco Harris leaves behind a legacy of excellence, and love.
What he did will live forever.
Thank you, Franco.
May God bless you.
Condolences from a Tom Landry-era Dallas Cowboys fan.
Rocky Bleier was my favorite Steelers RB during those Pittsburgh Super Bowl
years, but I have to say that Mr. Harris made me cry almost as much as the 1960s Green Bay Packers did.
What a great player he was, and what a great RB tandem he and Bleier made.

Franco #32 Harris
God bless our pro football heroes from a by-gone era.🏈
Franco was my first Hero when i was 6 ears old i would run around dodging imaginary tacklers….I was born in 76 so I only got to witness his legend and the tail end of his career….but at 7 when i asked for a football uniform for xmas there was no doubt what colors id wear and what number would be emblazoned on it…Rest in Piece Franco
Any idea how he died? Was he ill before his passed?
Well now we know raiders will lose for entertainment purposes.
total class
I alwsys felt that Franco was a good guy, but I hated seeing my Cowboys lose to him. RIP Franco.
All the legends are passing away from this era that I watched as a kid. Was never a Steeler fan but I had much respect for his talent. No doubt one of the best,
My cousin, Big Jim Buzzard, says thank you for all those great memories. Wilkinsburg
We lost a wonderful person who set a good example throughout his life and football career. We need more like him today.
"This is how legends are made!"
