  1. Never heard of him or most of the skaters in that league. But, WOW! I had forgotten how unnecessarily long some of the cars were back then. Fun clip to watch. Thanks Mark😊

  2. Seeing Shirley Hardman in the audience reminded me of the first time inter league games were broadcast. Texas Outlaws and the New York Bombers playing the SF Bombers. Hardman and Vallie captains of the NSD teams and what fireworks between them and Weston!! Surprised to see Joan Kazmierski in audience. I thought she was Captain of the NY Chiefs in the 60’s.

  3. Thanks for posting. I didn't know John Hall is from the great state of Mississippi. Nice to see his teammates including the legendary Shirley Hardman and Joan Kazmerski in this clip.

  4. This is killing me softly. Folks dont understood Roller Derby skater were some of the most articulate and educated people. What a wonderful clip Mr. Roman!

  5. MARK….I recall a game sometime in the 70s in which John "Porky" Parker who was on the NY Chiefs at the time, with the help of a teammate, beat the living he'll out of Charlie O'Connell who was with the SFBB. It would be AMAZING if video of that game existed

  6. Great to see this! A very young John Hall and the other skaters. Jack Narz is the host. His brother Tom Kennedy was also a game show host 😊

  7. That was very cool. I am not familiar with John Hall, but he seemed like a very nice guy. Winning a car and $2,000 sounds pretty good for over 60 years ago.🎊
    THANKS, Mark.🤗
